disco tony
Morning all, planning to go to Wales for a weekend in the summer hols. Question, can somebody give a start point for the famous Strata Florida please? Did it a couple of years ago with a guided tour and drove around the Pentwyn reservoir. Awesome driving and scenery but need suitable start point grid ref. please. Thanks in advance, Tony
JST
i didn't think all of it had legal vehicular access? (waiting to be corrected)
Guest diesel_jim
I thought Strata was fully open?
russ3120
I thought it was restricted access, give landrover598 (dave) a knock, he is quite knowledgable for these parts Russ
GBMUD
I think that there is some confusion here between Strata Florida and Sarn Helen. Sarn is in Dave's area, Strata is a little further away and, AFAIK, open all year with no restriction. Chris
honitonhobbit
Might be a bit on the wet side at the moment - those river crossings might be a tadge deep
landrover598
From what i've heard/seen/read it's fully open, I'm waiting for the water levels to drop a bit before i go up there, which will be one weekend in the not to distant future. samwilk200
Strata Florida is fully open, and the water is not too deep, even though we've had a lot of rain. Went through it last week on my enduro bike, and although the bike coughed and spluttered, and I got wet feet , it was easily passable in a Landy! Paul Humphreys
It gives lots of rain for that area tomorrow. Paul

DiscoStu
I would probably be using porthmadog as a base. If not then coming in from the north, m53/A55. Stu
GBMUD
It gives lots of rain for that area tomorrow.Paul Beware, if it has been wet in the days before you go; CARS HAVE BEEN WASHED AWAY THERE BY THE FLOW OF WATER ALONE. I have seen the results with my own eyes, and nearly fallen victim myself. Don't underestimate the power of water. Chris

disco tony
Grid Ref SN805-569 I think is one endit has been a while since we were there If you put this ref into multimap, you need an extended snorkle, dont think this one is correct!!!!
