FridgeFreezer
When a normal hard top and an angle grinder love each other very much, several beers later an abortion like that is born. No, I don't like them as it happens, just keep the hardtop and avoid driving into too many trees, or fit a cage.

FridgeFreezer
At least the chequerplate is painted black I spose (no I don't like chequerplate either), truck looks like a good 'un though.
alantd
Welcome aboard! Stick with the hard top IMHO.
ThreePointFive
Did you fabricate the chequer plate roof panels or buy them? I used to have some on mine and always assumed a previous owner had made them, would be interesting to know if that was true or not. Nice Landy though, don't chop it up! Mo Murphy
Cut down hard tops are at least equal to BFG writing facing outwards on tyres in terms of style crime Mo
Godlykepower
Never mind Fridge Freezer, Boy.....he is a bit of a Land Rover purist, that is why he owns a classically restored vehicle, free of modifications etc. One of those subtle ones that never get driven, only shown off at LR shows!! If you see a picture, you'll know what I mean!!! Personally, I think what you have there is really nice, and I would not bother hacking it apart. lrfarmer
i made my 90 a hard top about 2 years ago as i needed to put my step son some were, it took me a long time to get the hang of it round trees but up untill not so long ago i hadn't put any dents in the roof but i can't say that any more but i would have dented a truck cab if i were you stick with it, i've never liked the big truck cab. dantd5
Why don't you avoid all the hustle, sell this one and buy a truck? You may need the energy for other purposes and " sicknesses" the Landie may incure through time. Or just keep it the way it is!!! (:
boy
i've had a pick up my truck was when i got it and i didnt have any room so i charge it to a van but i like a pick up so i think i may go for a bit of both!!!
stuntman
Yep, all you need is an angle grinder and some pop rivets. There are plenty of write ups on the 'net of how to do it. I believe it's known as a king cab. If you want to do it to your vehicle go for it mate, it's easy enough to buy another roof and side panels if you don't like it. paul stage1v8
personally I would rather stretch a truck cab than shorten a hardtop, though shortening a 110 DC roof would be easier, just harder to find. ($$?)
