Chilly one today, what? Thanks to everyone who gave generously to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (I know with the combined efforts Henry, Becky and Mary you didn't get much of a choice  ). We won't know a final figure until all of the charity boxes are counted up, but it looked like a good few hundred - details will be posted as soon as we know.

Some haphazard amateur photos to have a gander at:

Well I had a fantastic day - BIG thanks to everyone who turned out to help me celebrate :D

First job at Slab is always to entice matey Stefan into an innocent looking puddle...

3145237922_ae042b16f3_o.jpg

Sadly the Belgians offered a helping hand (and towrope) before I'd built up a full session of urine extraction ;)

(Hopefully H doesn't see this, as he later bought the Disco!)

Then hand the Ibex keys to Bill S and see what a mess he can make...

That water was dangerous... beware the pirate ducks!

I reckon Rich (dlander) was stalking me round the site... every time we looked like getting stuck, he magically appeared!

Cracking day out!

:)

Yep, as others have said a great day out, slabs an amazing site as it seems to change

with use so always something to catch the unwary out with :)

Saw and chatted to a number of forumeers, including Jez Suz and Doggie and Mr Escape, who

I chatted to breifly, left, and then chatted to again as he then rescued me as I got stuck around 10 seconds later

Jon V890 (forumeer) came with his recently Fridge N HFH tuned MS 4.6 TC 90, and did some water proof testing

in one of the shallower lakes,........seems to work well :)

post-22-1230539681_thumb.jpg post-22-1230539661_thumb.jpg

I did with a mate some suspension testing in one of the deep gulleys, front suspension seems to work better

following a few tweaks, but still nowhere near as good as the rear, was aware had to behave as KellyV8 from here

has bought the Hardtop and Cage complete, and wanted it in the shame shape and condition as before the event

Mate in tricked up Suzi (2x ARBs lifted , twisters) does the same gulley, these things make me sick

half the size and weight and with a good driver can be superb, :

post-22-1230540246_thumb.jpg

What it lacks in axle flex it makes up for in other ways :) - often via no breakages or damage ....

Jon V890 = alternator, and transfer box making odd noises, plus discovered his Typre R also needs bigger Plasma rope :(

Me = NSF Tyre having somthing "Nasty" punch a big hole in it

Double beadlockers may be nice, but holes = slight problemette....thats why you still need a spare, light lens, but no

front wing dmage , Jon White rear wing drivers door assembly "Rearranged" from gulley fun, and the Suzi = FA damage :(

Recovered a lot (thats me being recovered and me recovering others ), well organized as everm, friendly and fun

Bl**dy cold though at times esp the water temperature :(

Brilliant day - very glad I bit the bullet and froze my bits off getting the truck up together, cheers to Ryan for popping over and helping out.

No photos from me, got to go through the video though - all bribes to the usual address, eh Nige? ;)

Oh yes - I didn't get stuck once :i-m_so_happy:

(A record which I rather doubt will last very long)

Was good to see so many people and so many forumers, Jez ever the gent dragged Escape and the Belgian crowd back to Basingstoke to fix their tyre, so we had a pleasant meal in a traditional English pub staffed entirely by immigrants  followed by a visit to the lab and then the fun of watching Jez expose our well-travelled friends to the arsenal of strange concoctions in his drinks cabinet

It was quite a dry day, people seemed to be either OK or really really stuck, especially if they were driving a Frontera with no recovery points <_<

We also had a very good time! B) Definitely worth coming over for.

Thanks to the organisers and all the members for making us feel welcome.

And very special thanks to Jez and Zuz for their incredible hospitality!!

You can be sure to see us again for future events. :D

I'll post our pics and movies as soon as I have them myself.

Any idea how much money was raised?

From what I've heard so far, there was just over £220 from the collection buckets :)

Our club treasurer hasn't reported back on the money raised from entrance fees, but there will probably be another £100 or so I reckon...

Sooooo not a bad day then really :) Well done and thanks to everyone who made it.

For those that wanted to know, the Club managed to raise just over £1200 for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. A cheque should be winging its way to them soon. Thanks to everyone who came and dug deep into their pockets - nice one! :D
