Pah

While you lot were enjoying yourself I popped over to have a lookie and pick up

registration forms for entry later this year......ended up being asked to go rescue the

MOD Land Warden (Nice chap) who was "Stuck" on another military site. Lucy gave me her

phone the Warden gave me directions and I found him,

And his 90, and his trailler attached to the 90 and stuck

Tried removing him - nope, had to 1st detach the trailler and winch that out

post-22-1237756405_thumb.jpg

Then having done that rigged up and winched him out (AT tyres in a FODEN size hole where it got

stuck and then span its wheels).....making nice 90 size hole

He was very very very grateful, been there a while took me 45 mins to remove him and trailler.

Frankly I think Paul Lucy and Neil really cocked up here - this couild have been a exellent "Special Stage"

Hmm well had a frustrating day but it got fun by the end. Snapped the winch rope numerous times on the first punch of the day, got a new rope on (thanks Lucy, will pay up tomorrow!), then got to punch 2 and did a CV... Got back to control and got the front prop off, spent the rest of the day in 2wd... Not easy when the sand is as soft as a soft thing and the car just wants to dig holes. Oh and we lost most of our RH steering lock... So all in all I'm pleased we did what we did...

Next time...

Lucy here,

Thanks for all the positive comments we were a bit nervous with it being first round and all. We had a stressful but rewarding weekend which has obvoiusly been made better by lots of happy competitors. We want to encourage everyone to get to know each other throughout the series so if you are able to make it the evening before it is a great oppurtunity for everyone to meet each other over a beer or two. As the weather gets warmer we will probably bring a bar b along aswell !!!

Speak soon.

Lucy

Adrian (Orange) and I had a pretty good day out, although I have been feeling the after effects all day...

Sorry to see Barry's (Holyzeus) little incident - you were gone by the time we got back to the car park, but I trust you got back ok?

There was a good mixture of difficulties laid out, and the general feeling of the event was excellent.

Thanks to everyone involved, marshals, officials and Paul and Lucy @ challenger!

Cheers

Mark
