Quagmire
Loved it- so did my girlfriend too. She even said afterwards that i should get a Rangie at some point! Previous to this I had been told the s2 and 90 were enough landrovers for 1 person... Top stuff!
angusb
The mrs now understands why I lose all common sense when I see a RRC I'd like to know what the camera crew were driving.
Stephen337
Would it be because the Toyota was FWD only that they decided to trash it rather than send it down the dune? Im assuming that engine braking was all that was used in the descent and having 2WD just on the front would have been too much of a roll risk. If the handbrake works the same as on LRs, having the rear propshaft removed isn't exactly helping it to work Then again, to get there he had to have the diff lock on anyway, so I supposed it would still do its job. Oh well, still pretty damn amusing
stravaigin
I really enjoyed this one, best for ages but then I am a wee bit bias as I spent 2 months in 1993 in Bolivia doing a similar trip. As has been said before, TG is a light entertainment program. Nothing More. Not enough photos in this thread so here are some of mine. Land Rover Ltd did sponsor us with a small amount, we rented 60 series Land Cruisers and I don't recall seeing many Solihul products. Daan
I thought the bit were jeremy had to go back to get his mobile phone, which turned out to be 10 metres away funny. Sounds about right about the speed you go at. I did wonder about the rollcage thing, they werent fitted while traversing the most dangerous roads... Maybe a rollcage isnt any help when you drop down those cliffs.
gazelle
On the last Top Gear (E-type 50th Anniversary) , I thought I spotted a forum face towering over the rest. SimonR was that you in the audience?
GBMUD
I had to re-watch it to check! There was a tall man with a beard, but I did not see Si. More of a Si/me hybrid... Chris
gazelle
Yup it was the tall man with the beard at the end of the M1 bit. Just rechecked - Chris I believe you are right. I will go away again. Martin
rovernut
As usual they have done nothing but damage for the image of all offroading. Great for the manufacturers but very bad for us. Your not the only one on here that thinks TG does us no favours whatsoever.
