OT: The inevitable Top Gear thread

Would it be because the Toyota was FWD only that they decided to trash it rather than send it down the dune?

Im assuming that engine braking was all that was used in the descent and having 2WD just on the front would have been too much of a roll risk.

If the handbrake works the same as on LRs, having the rear propshaft removed isn't exactly helping it to work  Then again, to get there he had to have the diff lock on anyway, so I supposed it would still do its job.

Oh well, still pretty damn amusing

I really enjoyed this one, best for ages but then I am a wee bit bias as I spent 2 months in 1993 in Bolivia doing a similar trip. As has been said before, TG is a light entertainment program. Nothing More.

Not enough photos in this thread so here are some of mine.

Land Rover Ltd did sponsor us with a small amount, we rented 60 series Land Cruisers and I don't recall seeing many Solihul products.

I thought the bit were jeremy had to go back to get his mobile phone, which turned out to be 10 metres away funny. Sounds about right about the speed you go at.

I did wonder about the rollcage thing, they werent fitted while traversing the most dangerous roads... Maybe a rollcage isnt any help when you drop down those cliffs.
