HoSS
Hmm i may be being drawn to the dark side.. I have recently been looking with interest at the Volvo (C306?) TGB13 6x6. It could be my next interesting project, if only i knew where to find one... Does anyone know the best place to buy one? Any seen for sale? I dont mind importing it from Sweden if i have to. Plus anyone with other info, pictures on this model would be of interest. Particularly engine conversions (Diesel). Cheers, Hoss
UdderlyOffroad
Not what you asked for but, given your location if 6x6 is your thing, an ex-Swiss army Pinzgauer could probably be sourced? The current direct disposal for sale listing (linky PDF) doesn't have anything, bar a couple of unimogs, however...
HoSS
yeah, thanks for the suggestion but the pinzgauer just doesnt turn me on like the TGB does...
FridgeFreezer
TGB's make a hell of a lot of sense - I don't know any for sale but if you need info on the axles & parts we've handled a few www.flyingspanners.net - could be worth an ask on the forum. 101sean
There was a guy in Scotland importing them but his web site hasn't been updated since 08 http://www.volvoc303.co.uk/ Swedish site for Scania Tgb (mmmmmmmm!) that also does Volvos http://www.scaniasba111.se/ Swedish site for Volvos http://www.volvo4x4.se/ Worth keeping an eye on www.milweb.net in the medium vehicles section of the classifieds, there's one for sale in Sweden at the moment. My name is Mud
A lot of them have been imported to Finland. Here's one they claim is a good one, with 25 000 km on the clock: http://kauppa.savenmaa.fi/PublishedService?file=page&pageID=9&itemcode=volvo+tgb+6x6 Here's a tgb search for Sweden's equivalent of craigslist. The prices are in kronor, drop a zero and you are close to pounds: http://www.blocket.se/stockholm?q=volvo+tgb&cg=1020&w=3&st=s&ps=&pe=&mys=&mye=&ms=&me=&cxpf=&cxpt=&gb=&fu=&cxdw=&ca=11&l=0&md=th
reidalama
try: http://www.allannonser.se/volvo-tgb13.html?sort=last they come up fairly regularly on there. also put "volvo tgb13 c306 till salu" in to google.se and use the advance search in google to limit your results to the last month or so to see the new ones come up, although you may need to do this on google.co.uk first to remember where it is in advanced search unless you speak swedish. 5 mins of this found me: http://www.blocket.se/goteborg/Volvo_C03_TGB13_6x6_6_pass_34906030.htm?ca=11&w=1&last=1 luckily Scandinavian's English is usually pretty immaculate. good luck! Tobias
A friend of mine has one similar to this: http://www.volvo4x4.se/89059.asp It's called TGB20 and has a slightly longer load bed and wheel base than TGB13, otherwise similar. It's in used condition, some lamps may me broken/missing. Portal CV joint rubber gaiters are recent upgraded PU-rubber stuff. Brakes OK. He is interrested in upgrading to TGB40, 6x6 scania truck, so it's for sale. PM if it sounds interresting. It's close to Stockholm, Sweden. HoSS
a bit of an update.. I should have this little puppy soon Decided to go for the 4x4 over the 6x6 as i dont want it to be to unmanageable around town. Current owner has done a lot of work, including dropping in a Volvo 2.4 TD My intention is to retain it as a capable off-roader, but with an overland conversion inside.
