bob, do you want us to leave trailers and tow cars on the top field next to the gate ? or are we ok once unloaded to drive down ?

do you want us to use the bottom entrance to the camping field instead of the top one which will be a nightmare with this weather.

for people that have never been, its a mare in the dry let alone wet

see you saturday

I was thinking of arriving mid afternoon Saturday. Will there still be some setting out to help with, or is that too late?

I think they will have it sorted by then, Sue and Paul have been there today and more marshalls were arriving tonight.

First truck on site was Saley, first truck to get stuck...............................................................................Saley

It has dried up a bit today so of you are towing a trailer with a 4x4 you can upload at the top and drive down and vice versa. If you are towing a trailer with a van you should take a look at the field, find a marshall and make a decision whether you park at the top or the bottom.

If you do decide to drive down please stick to the headland (the bit around the edge of the field  )

After carefull consideration we have decided to leave Saley and his truck where he is untill the day before round 2, it will be more peacefull

Guess who put £85's worth of Premier unleaded on top of the half of tank of Diesel in his Landcruiser last night..yes this knob head..

just waiting for the tank drain guys to arrive, £250 for the drain, plus loss of a full tank of fuel, then about £135 to refill with the proper stuff....

could have had a week away in Cyprus of somewhere for that.... still a least I hadn't started it... still feel a knob now.....

Just going to load up and make my way down there, see you all there for a spectacular weekend.....

Chris, i'm trying really hard not to chuckle

Small favour please - could you bring your spare ecu ? Mine freaked out last night. So i'm running my spare, but i've never used it for longer than 20mins.

I got to see a truck issuing sparks before it set on fire :)

To be fair we did put it out very quickly, if it could have waited another five minutes we would have been in the pond anyway.

I liked watching the drive out from the special stage over the big log, it was worth going to witness that and I cant remember his name but he deserves a mention.

Well folks thanks for a great weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I was fannying aroung like some old mother trying to make sure everything was going good.

A very special thanks to Mr Badger and young Miss, Badger, Glaggsy, Charles, Mark, and Dave plus all the other Marshalls who were superb, thanks to Neil A.K.A.the Godfather for all his help and advice and for leaving us to it, and to Mrs Badger Sue who was absolutely outstanding in her role as Clerk of Course, and of course Bob Treebloke for the use of his superb site and facilities, and not forgetting my partner in crime Saley and our Thomas for putting up with me whilst I was obviously distracted (poor excuse but I'll use it) and for all his help with the running of it.

I think everthing went well apart from me forgetting special stage signs, srutineering and event signing on signs (which we improvised for).

I will later today post up the full scores and placings...

WHAT we want is photo's posting, there is a superb video of to drive on two wheels whilst completing a special stage from Gordon "Zim" Conway, what a show off, fantastic stuff, as Alex Ferguson would say "squeaky bum moment".

But boys and girls YOU made it a great weekend thank you.

Chris

I had a good day walking around taking photos/video of trucks. Zim's 2-wheel driving recovery was impressive, shame the next time he wasn't so lucky but I understand 4 new spark plugs sorted that one out! :)

The course was laid out well with some interesting punches, I think the two-sided card system worked well and made some of the punches really interesting!

Thanks to everyone involved this weekend :) We enjoyed it.

Oops at the 2 wheel stint. But watching the video i'm putting it down (/ guessing) to having just broken the front o/s stub shaft coming over the logs. I seem to drop onto the ground, accelerate and it turned me right (thus onto it's side). Watching the next video i think it's come out of centre diff lock as i lost drive and ended up on my side. My mistake with my engine breathers and sucking oil into the intake. 8 new plugs would have been better, but i was rushing.

The engine seemed to stall as soon as you went over so I am thinking starting the engine while on your side might be a slight mistake  , maybe winch a bit nearer to upright first next time.

Just for accuracy I've amended No9 Johnathon Smith's punch score. My typo after staying up very late to enter all the results into a spreadsheet last night. It actually makes no difference to the results as the final score was correct. He scored 9 punches
