PGM316
Sorry if this has been covered already... Does anyone have a good recomendation for some fitted rubber mats? The Landrover ones being £70 and some other now Landrover ones about £50, just seems expensive. The ones I have are a bit worn, but have a foam underside, so keep the floor nice and damp! cheers Paul
Lars L
I've bought two sets of these (scroll down a bit): http://www.mailorder4x4.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Interior_628.html
Retroanaconda
Genuine Land Rover ones in mine. Yes they cost a bit, but they fit perfectly and do a lot of soundproofing on top of the other stuff I have underneath then.
PGM316
Oh retro I don't deal well with multiple options! They look ok on Lars link and very cheap, do they fit well? Cheers both
Lars L
Yes, they fit quite OK.
Steve King
Well just to add to the options - if you want loose fitting mats as well there are some with raised edges that contain the leaks and drips from boots! My brother bought me a set a while ago and I can't seem to find them now (the ones advertised as "Mudmats" are not the same. Anyway when I switched from a 300 TDI Defender to a TD5 my wife was away looking after my Mother and i am pleased to report that the mats came up a treat in the dishwasher!!!!! :hysterical:

PGM316
I've bought two sets of these (scroll down a bit): http://www.mailorder...terior_628.html I looked at these, they have a foam bottom, downside of these with a Defender with all their leaks is that it'll hold dampness. Mutley
Is it not worth buying a sheet of rubber matting and cutting to shape? I did this for the back of the 90, as the wife has a horse noticed that the stable mats where ideal, grooved channels underneath and small bobbles on top, come in various thicknesses (10mm and 18mm) and 4'x6' sheets. I got a 10mm sheet and cut it to size, helps with sound proofing, will NEVER wear out! And a damn sight cheaper than a LR one!

They have foam, but it doesn't soak up any water. They of course trap water like any other rubber mat.

bernie
I agree with stable matting, i have these thoughout my station wagon 110, i have the 18mm with ridges underneath to let the water escape, and excellent soudproofing.
potato head
But where does one get them from and how much? Look to the bay of e, that's where I found mine - stable mats Admittedly they are easy to work with and do cut down the noise but it will not act as a puddle maker as the water just rolls of the edge of the mat. Mutley
Ebay or Google search should get 1 sheet for about 30 quid depending on thickness, if you find some one supplying local saves on postage too. Minimum thickness 10-11mm it dont come any thinner.
cackshifter
Just beware with stable mats you dont get the epdm ones which are much stiffer and lighter - equally don't go stupid on rubber thickness, it weighs a ton. N
ZeroDelta
I got a set of genuine front mats form eBay for £29 in an almost new condition. If you are desperate the are probably the best, but f you wait you can always get a bargain on eBay. I would have to agree with Retroanaconda as the genuine mats are the best and really do help with sound proofing.
Mutley
Ok regards genuine mats i beleive the part no. STC50172 fits upto 2007.....What is the difference between the mats after 2007? Personaly i like the look of this pattern......But this comes up as Pre 2007 and also for 2007 on? This one not like so much but comes up pre 2007 as well as the one above? Any help in this matter Cheers Mutley
RustyNissanPrairie
I have some I bought off ebay a few years ago - they look similar underneath to the stuff Mutley posted but the top surface has small rough chippings, they were pre cut, thick heavy rubber, good sound proofer. Just make sure the footwells are properly dry and slather them in waxoyl, let it dry then put the matts in-no problems.
Retroanaconda
Mats change with gearbox changes. You have mats for 2.5N/A, TD, 200Tdi (ie. LT77 vehicles), mats for 300Tdi vehicles with R380s, mats for Td5 vehicles with R380s, and I think even ones for V8s with LT85s! Just put your VIN into Microcat etc. and it should tell you what you need
Mutley
Thanks Retro, now where do i find this Microcat thingy?
