Landowner
I have some tree sliders for a 110 and need to sell them Are they called tree sliders or rock sliders and is there any difference please. ? thank you
landy andy.
Rock and tree sliders are a box with a tube welded to them that protrude Tree sliders are just the box. No tube on the outer side. Andy
Landowner
Thanks Andy, rock sliders it is then, and very good ones they are too I'll alter the ebay add, its the ones with the tube on the outside
AndrewHorsfield
I thought the tree sliders had the extra bar on the box to push trees aside, while the box allowed you to slide over rocks
jad
I thought the tree sliders had the extra bar on the box to push trees aside, while the box allowed you to slide over rocks This was my understanding for example... http://www.paddockspares.com/off-road/underbody-protection/rock-and-tree-sliders.html
pat_pending
I'd just call them sill bars.
Landowner
These are the ones on my old 110, not the best view but should see what they are
jad
Sill bars? is that an american term? Call them tree sliders. People will know what you are talking about. Or if you want tree/rock sliders. May attract more attention on ebay?
CwazyWabbit
I agree with jad, they are tree sliders but call them tree / rock sliders in the advert on ebay. BTW that's a nice looking early

honitonhobbit
The square bits are rock sliders. The tube bits are called nerf bars We don't talk about damage to trees
Landowner
Is that Irony at work-with the AA van on the back of your trailer? John Got some cheery waves en route, one from an AA man Land Rover rules the roads

pat_pending
Sill bars? is that an american term? No, rustic Hertfordshire dialect. Sill bars = Bars that replace the sill panels.

Oakmaster
I agree that is a nice looking 110 - and even if it wasnt an AA van on the back - The simple thought that the tables might have been turned - gave me a wry smile!
Landowner
It is an AA van and I recovered it from Scotland and brought it 250 miles back to a local garage for the lease company to repair. The old V8 never missed a beat but used a lot of petrol and LPG,. Got a few thumbs up on the way back and it was a lovely day for the drive
