gavin.
I saw this Land Rover for sale recently on a well known independent specialist (whose name shan't be mentioned, but if you search for independent land rover sales in Huddersfield...) who were asking £25,000 for it. I thought this was a bit optimistic, and dismissed it as a bit of a punt by a dealer. Then I saw this one listed on ebay for £30,000 for sale in Worcestershire. My question is: are these dealers smoking crack, or has it really got to the stage when these cars actually fetch this much?

paulnb57
I'm surprised the Huddersfield LR centre stays in business, considering the ridiculous ammout they ask for their trucks.....there must be some mugs about, same at Nene Overland...... Team Idris
I would think both trucks have achieved what they intended by getting 'air time' on forums ? It is a very cheap trick by advertising standards. Especially with a 'show' easily costing 2k and up
gavin.
They're definitely getting their air time. I'm not sure I believe the old adage that "any publicity is good publicity" though. Surely the fact that these vehicles are now becoming USA-exportable can't be reason enough to hike up the price of a car by a factor of 3? Oh. Just spotted a 110 van for £25k. I might get two. CwazyWabbit
That's a nice early 110 with the free wheel hubs on the front, my guess is it's one of the selectable 2wd/4wd models ...... not that I'd pay 25k for it though.
gavin.
No doubt that it is nice. It's effectively brand new
neonovice
It's not just dealers who are doing this either. Over the past 12 months defenders are being offered for 2x (even 3x) what I was paying previously for them. Whether or not they actually sell for that much I have my doubts, I reckon people are hanging on to them before JLR release the replacement in 2017. sharkey964
I'm sure I read something about the one HLC had for sale,It has minimal milage and is as close to new as you could get. So,£25000 is'nt an unreasonable price.

So,£25000 is'nt an unreasonable price. They were saying it was in the region of 20k miles from new and all absolutely untouched. Fair enough, it's rare. I do wonder what they actually get for it in the end. Have people been following the prices in the USA recently? The ones I have seen weren't obscenely priced. dailysleaze
I think businesses have had to go back to the drawing board after all the seizures in the US during the summer. All those crazy conversions don't have so much value any more.

If only I kept my selectable hi cap... Could have been quids in only paid £450 for it
