Simon B
This was a hot topic a while back, does it get done any more? If not why not? Cost? or wrecking the engine?
peterkinsella
propane fumigation system installed a few years back. Cost about £500. Has paid for itself many times over. Correctly set up will give +bhp and improved mpg. Yes, it can 'wreck the engine' Td5
rich broom
Was quite unstable and difficult to set up. Pay back rate wasn't very good compared to set up costs. And boo diesel is flavour of the month
landroversforever
Yes it can give more MPG, but if that's the reason you fitted it, you missed the point. Propane is mainly used on diesels for increasing performance.
Simon B
I was curious, if I went for it it would be for a bit more performance say when towing and a cleaner burn so its a bit greener.
honitonhobbit
NOS works better. Easier and cheaper to fit as kits readily available for slammed Saxo's with stretched tyres
vulcan bomber
Fit NOS and Propane together.....
honitonhobbit
And methanol and water
JeffR
And methanol and water or go the whole hog, fit everything then surround engine with kevlar blanket and wait for the bang! By the way, rear wheel drive Discos (must fit that front prop this weekend) understeer like pigs going into a bend and oversteer like a hoolies motor coming out of bends! Kirstin is not amused, throw in Arctic weather and it's getting to be fun...
Simon B
Cool, can you get NOS out of a pump at the garage? Portal Rover used to do the kits but they appear to have disappeared.
Bowie69
Just remember to carry a large, strong cardboard box wherever you go.
David Sparkes
Just remember to carry a large, strong cardboard box wherever you go. Is that to put all the bits of engine in, after you have picked them up off the road?
