LR90
How do you report suspicious activity? Doing the usual trawl for Landy bits there are items listed which, if you click on them, pull up the item briefly before redirecting you to a FAKE eBay account login page. Clearly there to harvest accounts/passwords. Now, the wonderful ebay reporting system sees to insist you provide memebr id, item number or some such depending on how you answered a mirriad of questions but as you don't ever get t view the item in question this is rather difficult. So, anyone no if ebay respond to abuse@ebay.co.uk or suchlike? Or do they just not care coz I'm not impressed so far

sgnas
Ebay make reporting a scam so difficult, otherwise they would be inundated with complaints. Your time is better spent filling the false login page with loads of Bart Simpson crank call names or simple verbal abuse.

Yes they make it a bit difficult (you just need to engage that grey thing contained in your head) but if they made it really easy everybody would be lodging malicious complaints and bring the site to a standstill..... FridgeFreezer
Agreed - use the listing link / item #, their contact system does suck but perhaps it's like that to weed out the weak and the stupid?

simonr
I've found them very slow to react to such complaints. They get their money either way - so there is not a lot of incentive. Tend just to ignore such things now. Si

I am SO pleased that I noticed this - I am normally very careful of scams but I think that this one might have caught me - MANY THNAKS for the warning, LR90

So, anyone no if ebay respond to abuse@ebay.co.uk or suchlike? Or do they just not care coz I'm not impressed so far I haven't bought anything for ages from e-bay. One fella sent some silicone in a flimsy envelope. Came stinking and broken. Asked for a replacement due to poor packaging. Promised to send new, which went on for weeks. He never bothered so I handed out my 1st neg feedback. So he threatened to do same to me, even though I paid on time and fulfilled my part of the deal in full. Reported this back to e-bay, and received nothing but flannel. When a seller abuses the e-bay spirit and system in this way, they should be removed. Afterall it is in e-bays interest otherwise they will loose customers, and word of mouth goes a long way. Saying that, they are so big now they probably don't really care about the odd disgruntled customer.
gruntus
from experience it is worth persuing, if there are enough complaints action will be taken. I had a guy pull his item immediately after winning it (he obviously didnt get enough for it) and reported it. I did think ebay were pretty lame with the their response and the guy gave me a huge amount of negative feedback when i left back neutral feedback and an inoffensive comment (and I was the wronged party!). However there had been a few complaints and I noticed the traders account was eventually removed. What is rubbish though is there is nothing stopping the guy starting up again under another id and address. On another note that really p****s me off is the gits who list an item with a starting bid of £50 and when you reach the £200 mark the reserve price doesn't even get made!! Greedy sods......
