  1. That's funny !Maybe we could open a 'just giving' page and all put in for some sort of BUPA membership for Nige ?
  2. Thank you both - that's good to know !! I nearly bought a D2 transfer box for mine a while back - glad it fell through as I had no idea my PTO wouldn't have fitted.
  3. My friend had a standard one fail just recently on a lane - just fatigue from poor material quality by the look of it. It's that that, coupled with the stresses I perceive mine to have with the long travel set up, that has prompted my desire to replace it.
  4. In line with your branding idea then: XS Jet Wiper XS Wiper Jet Or XS Jet Wipe Personally I preferred my own branding exercise for you earlier in the thread - 'Wax-Cat products - no other go to greater pains in R&D'.
  5. Thank you ! All of my set up is in the standard position - so to get a fit will require deviating from that. I'll pop a picture up or how it's pulled the knob off so you can see what I mean about needing to bond it back on and my concern about the adhesive strength of that being the limiting factor. I really appreciate all the help here. Thank you.
  6. Welcome - they're on my list. Just not reached that point yet.
  7. Have you seen this ? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/10518742/Windscreen-wipers-to-be-consigned-to-history.html Could you develop something like this please
  8. I was thinking it was probably unrealistic to get them re-done - until I saw the picture of the staff on your link. I know think it's well worth a trip over.
  9. I agree with all of that. I always err on the side of caution. I believe I drove Strata Florida a very short time apart from that Discovery that horrifically was swept away killing one of the occupants. Very sobering.
  10. That picture is a River - though seldom has a strong current. Apologies I was just chipping in on the general wading depth rather than the dangers of a current.
  11. That's encouraging !! Any suggestions based on what you did to fix it ?
  12. Thank you everyone. It is definitely the R380 item. I have been putting it in 5th and I did remove the stud. I'll work through the instructions and see what happens. The gear knob coming off the (presumably) threaded insert has kind of put a spanner in the whole thing though. I need to bond that back on to be any use first.
  13. This is the sort of moment where I always think - I should buy a snorkel:
  14. Asinine questions coming up: I've been waiting to buy an x-defend gear stick lock for ages - and in the absence of Foundry getting any in I jumped at the chance to get one 2nd hand. Doing that meant I didn't realise I was missing the security nuts and the instructions. Getting it to fit has been an arse - the angle seems wrong in that when the main gear lever is pushed forward the tube cutouts really gouge into it. Anyhow what's happened is that the transfer nob lever just come off under that tension. It's left what must be an insert on the shaft. So three questions if I may : Can anyone recommend a glue to use to fix it back on ? Does the fact that the knob can be simply prised off by breaking the adhesive bond not make it useless ? Anyone any ideas as to why the angle seems so wrong ? I wouldn't have though moving the main lever on its spline would alter the angle at all.
  15. That sounds promising mike ! anyone have a part number ? The only standardish looking ones I could find were these : http://bit.ly/1m2wPVa
  16. Neil don't worry - his thread for naming the product is already out there http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=87670&page=1#
  17. The incredible Wax-Cat Wiper (no other brand works like this nor is likely to have had such a painful R&D process)* Price tbc Weight 3.4 kg * requires 4hp water pump
  18. Wiper Jet Or Jet Wiper Does what it says on the tin Or maybe 'Wet Dream' ?
  19. Agreed ! Thus my comment that it was peculiar -- rather than say ghastly. If fairness to me too the 'pass the bucket' remit has been fairly wide on occasion ... And just how ghastly or how hard to address its issues hasn't always been a factor At least we agree the wheels have got to go though.
  20. Mine failed because the washer jet stopped working .... I think dirt in the tank was stirred up in the drive to the MOT centre, as it worked at home but not when there.
