  11. A bit more progress First drilled holes where pulleys will sit, drilled and tapped for m12 they will eventually be drilled out to complete size which is 16mm why drill and tap ? I needed a means of holding failead in bandsaw to be able to cut a section out to reduce milling time bracket to hold fairlead Now to start cutting, need to remove a slice 20mm thick, finished thickness will be milled out to 22.5mm Turned around Cuts finished, now drilled in from each side slice removed, saying it is a lot easier than doing it..lol happy with that.. to be continued regards Stephen

  13. I don't see a problem with it providing everything is secure I have done similar many times, it's no different to over hanging ladders etc. The police will only be interested if it's an obvious safety hazard to other road users, tape a white rag on the edge of the door so it will flap around and be more noticeable by other drivers so they can adjust their distance accordingly Regards Stephen

  18. Well had a bit play tonight with a piece of 2 feet square half inch aluminium plate with a crack cut into it.... Used some pre-heat and set welder to max, burnt in ok so I think I will have a go at my cracked head, clean it up and then dye pen it, nothing ventured nothing gained Regards Stephen
  19. Hi and welcome to the forum Lots of V8 fans on here, pretty sure you will get the info you need I cut a section off a V8 crank years ago to fit one of the above kits, took it off with a hacksaw does not need to be perfectly square it just needs to allow the spigot bush to be fitted, so providing the spigot bush can be bolted up square it won't matter if the end of the crank is slightly wonky Good luck with the project will be watching with interest Regards Stephen
  20. I have a spare head that is cracked between valves, have wondered about having a shot at welding it up, more so since I got my spool gun setup, nothing to lose I suppose Regards Stephen

  22. You could possibly flip the axle, but you would also need to alter all suspension mounting points, bump stops etc, you could also change diff pumpkin position which is what I did when fitting Unimog 404 axles to my lightweight ( mog 404 axles thread )either way your looking at a decent amount of work Regards Stephen
