  1. I have an MC-8 as well, also from Thunderpole. Works well and the service from Thunderpole has been excellent. Pete.
  2. What he said. I think that may be an EGR and immobiliser pump definately not an EDC one. The bit on the end of the throttle spindle can be removed and binned if it is. I think the immobilsor part can be fudged to bypass it but I don't know for sure. Pete.
  3. If by r/h you are refering to the off side one I probably have one from a 1996 300tdi discovery if that is of any use. I can't say for sure until the weekend. Yours for the cost of postage. Although postage might be quite expensive as it's quite heavy. Pete.
  4. And why oh why do they then always wait until you get alongside them and then floor it so that you struggle to get past (this may be more a TDi issue than a V8 one) with out braking the speed limit or running out of road and then promptly slow back down to 20mph once you are past. Pete.
  5. I prefer this one from Golddigger 4x4 the same as Geoff Beaumont has on his. hope you don't mind me nicking your pic Geoff and I would imagine they would do a range rover one. Pete.
  6. Yeap I removed The EDC pump and left all the other sensors in there holes to act as blanks. Pete. editted to add You will need to use the injector feed pipes from the non EDC pump as the EDC ones are differrent. Pete.
  7. Mine used to do exactly the same when it had EDC on it and now having only changed to a manual pump (ie same starter motor, battery and wiring) will start almost instantly regardless of the outside temperature. I did find that the the fuel pump was 1 tooth out on the cambelt when I removed the old EDC pump. I am not trying to say that yours is not suffering from a lazy starter motor or bad earth it is just my experience. I did wonder when mine was still EDC wether they take longer to start because the airflow meter needs to see air flow to tell the ECU to put fuel in but never got round to investigating (I was going to try manually opening the flap in the airflow meter and then cranking the engine). I may of course be talking complete rubbish. Hope you sort it out soon (But reading the recent threads about issues with EDC more and more convinces me I did the right thing by scrapping it.) Pete.
  8. Hello and welcome to the forum, When you shift from high to low there is no warning light. The same lever that does the high to low (forward/backward)should also move to the left to engage the centre diff-lock which should bring on an orange light on the dash and back to the right to disengage and switch off the light. Unless it has been modified you don't have diff-locks in the axles just the centre diff one. Pete.
  9. Having just done this on mine and having had a similar problem I found that using a good quality six point rather than twelve point socket and tapping the socket wrench with a hammer freed the stubborn ones on mine with out rounding them off. Pete.
  10. Mark good to see you got home more or less in one piece. I thought the accomodation was ok but not the best value for money. Here are a few of our photo's (credit MrsRaceface for taking them). Pete
  11. I have (History channel). Have to agree completely mad job. Pete.
  12. Well what a fantastic weekend. Great to put some faces to names, and to receive such a warm welcome from everyone. Big thanks to Chris for not organising anything and to Mark, Les, V8Freak and Rupert for putting up with us all weekend. It was also good to meet Geoff and Erica on Saturday. We got home at around 6-30 having stopped for fish and chips (but we probably had the shortest journey of anyone.) Will stick some photo's up later. Pete.
  13. As people seem to be adding mobile numbers to aid meeting up mine is: 07795098618. Pete.
  14. I have 31x10.5R15 muds and 255/65R16 AT's that get used on my 1996 Disco and I run them both at 30psi all round and have had no problems. HTH Pete.
  15. IIRC it does and i think I found it by following the 2 tubes that run down the firewall, one does the transfer box the, other is the gearbox. HTH Pete.
  16. We are planning to be in the area of the youth hostel from lunch time on friday. I have new maps but no routes planned and no knowledge of the area. Pete.
  17. He does mention the engine struggling and needing more revs so I assumed that the clutch was being slipped a little where as when it was stuck in low and the clutch dumped the drive freed up. So I don't reckon the transfer was in neutral. Pete.
  18. Some 300TDI discovery's used a rubber coupling instead of a U/J at the diff end. It uses a 3 bolt flange rather than a 4 bolt one but it is realitively easy to swap over. Beyond that I can't help. Pete.
  19. I would say it was your handbrake. The shoes had probably rusted to the drum. I would suggest not applying the handbrake but chocking the wheels when you park it up at home would help avoid (not fix) the issue. HTH Pete.
  20. That only works out at 450ish miles a day for 3 years if I did the maths correctly. That's not that bad . Pete.
  21. Yeah I ment to suggest using a new (known to be completely dry) plug rather than just putting new plugs in the engine and seeing if it ran. Pete.
  22. I would suggest trying a new set of plugs as this will tell you wether or not your existing plugs are knackered or you have a problem with your ignition system as well. Pete.
