  1. Nope, the ABS equipped axle has two flexible hoses so the fitting is like a two in two out tee, although the brake lines are not joined together. Just like this one :- My link. Pete.
  2. I will try and remember to take a picture of the one on my back axle tomorrow when I remove it. Pete.
  3. Cool. At least I should have the 90 working by then. Best book the friday off. Pete.
  4. I use Navigator 8 for PC, although version 9 is now out. Pete.
  5. Found a copy here :- Nige's defining moment is at the bottom of the second page Pete
  6. Taken from their web site :- L. R. Series Unit 3 Brookfield Business Park Clay Lane Shiptonthorpe York YO43 3PU Telephone us 01430 871590 Click here for Website Pete.
  7. Yep well aware of the bearing from Tasmania. However, it should be possible to by the bearing in this country for about a £10 (if I can find a suitable supplier) and the replacement cover including the bearing, etc was only about £90 and less hassle. Pete.
  8. Although written for doing the job keeping the engine in a Discovery this should help:- Click Here Pete.
  9. If the EGR valve was working correctly or stuck closed before you removed it then you may well not notice any difference. It is also worth checking how clean the inlet manifold and intercooler are as if the valve had stuck open it is likely that they will be full of a marmite like residue. Cleaning this out can make a noticeable difference. Pete.
  10. The fan pulley bearing is removable, however the actual bearing seems to be difficult to get as the original manufacturer no longer makes it. It must be available as you can buy a replacement cover with a new bearing in it, but as yet I have not managed to track one down. This thread is as far as I got :- click here Pete.
  11. Neil, If I don't have a suitable vehicle and you still don't have a co-driver, I would be willing to navigate for you. Although you will have to put up with Jeannette and possibly the dog as well. Pete.
  12. Almost certainly will have an ECU, as change over was 1996 I believe. Just to add there is a throttle type cable running from the pedal towards the injection pump but it is for the Kickdown. Only one injector has wires (the one nearest the bulkhead). ECU is behind the offside kickpanel below the dash. Easy enough to swap the injection pump for a mechanical one. Pete.
  13. Chris, As long as I have a working vehicle I'll gladly lead a group (Although I have no knowledge of the area), If I don't have a working vehicle I'll be happy to act as a navigator for someone. Zeb, you should be fine, we don't tend to do anything to extreme. Pete.
  14. Yep 7/8 or 14/15 would be good for me too! Pete.
  15. North wales would be good. Nice short drive from home again . Pete.
  16. Again true, I would be quite happy to do either the lakes (no youth hostel ) or the peaks again especially as we only managed one day last time. However I'm sure there will be some other's along with some ideas. Pete.
  17. Fair comment, How much is there around Salisbury plains? Pete.
  18. I/we would be up for this again Chris, I like the idea of mid-wales as I have not explored any of that area yet. Pete.
  19. The torque convertor will lock up at around 50 mph depending on which transfer box and what size tyres you have, as i understand it, this basically means it goes from some slip between the crank rotation and the gearbox input rotation to being a solidish link (locked) between crank and gearbox input. Kickdown should work at more or less anyspeed, and should happen when you mash the throttle to the floor, usually resulting a large increase in revs from the engine, cloud of black smoke, the gearbox dropping down a gear or two and, you not really going much faster . Hth Pete.
  20. Mine runs at about 200 F to 210 F in normal use. Leccy fan comes on at about 215 F. Pete
  21. If you can come up with a bolt on kit to do it I will. Pete.
  22. Shouldn't you be packing or painting a chassis? Pete.
  23. Ok, sounds like I will have to go back to the original plan of making the Series body fit the Discovery chassis. Many thanks, Pete.
