  1. a quick Google found this lot in the US. http://cfpfilters.com/store/provent200.html They also seem to be used in the tuned VW / Audi world with good results. Pete.
  2. Les, Good to see you back . You have Jin and my sympathies on your loss, Pete.
  3. That was mine . Didn't realise it was still on the mud site. It was dead easy to fit, although you do need to drill a fairly large hole through the dash to allow the wiring to get to the pod. In addition you will need to drill to small holes to mount the fixing plate. I pulled the centre of the dash (the bit with the stereo and heater controls) out to fit it but you could probably do it just by removing the stereo. This was in a 300TDI. Pete.
  4. Mo, On my old Discovery I had both a set of alloy spacers and a set of steel spacers (at seperate times ) and with both sets I thoroughly cleaned the hub face and the threads and using loctite on the threads, torqued them up to the standard steel wheel nut torque setting and never had a problem with them coming undone. This was with the standard alloy wheels at first and then a set of modulars. Pete.
  5. I have standard Discovery 1 rear springs on the back of the 90 and it sits just about at standard height but as they a bit softer the ride is less harsh. Pete.
  6. No I don't, But I may be able to find a postcode. Pete. Taken from the forum calender "Satnav ST5 6QQ" got this from the 16th of May. Pete
  7. I had the honour of being the very first person to order something online using the website . As usual the service was excellent and the part arrived next day. Pete.
  8. Mike, When I did the 300, 2 years ago I used an Elring set and it has been fine. Pete.
  9. I used a 13row 235mm wide mocal oil cooler and made my own pipe work to suit by extending the original flexible pipes using joiners also from mocal, (touch wood) has been fine for at least 6 months in the defender and over a year on the Discovery before that when I moved the cooler to get the winch in. not the most elegant solution but it works. Pete.
  10. I don't know to be honest, I did mine 3 or 4 years ago and I can't remember which flange I got. but I had to make a spacer for it all to work. Pete.
  11. The combination you are suggesting should work quite nicely giving a nice controlled low box with a reasonable cruise in high box. I am intending to use a 1.22:1 t-box and 4.11:1 diffs with 33's in my 90 when I have the cash. What diameter are the 205's as on the standard 235's (29" diameter) tyres my 300TDi Discovery using standard diffs and a 1.22:1 transferbox would lock up the torque converter at 55mph (confirmed using GPS) and then with 33's and a 1.4:1 transfer box it now locks up at 45mph (again confirmed using GPS). This with engine revs of around 1800 rpm from memory. HTH Pete
  12. If thats the part number for the 200TDi diff flange the yes, however you may need a spacer as there is a couple of different length flanges. Pete.
  13. This (Click Me) from the tech archive will show what's involved Pete
  14. This is my 90 on 255/85x16 Cooper discoverer ST. It is running standard springs. My wheel arch flares are trimmed (badly by previous owner) so I get no rubbing at all. Pete.
  15. As M&S says the Cooper Discover ST is the closest to an AT available in 255/85x16. The tread is slightly more aggressive than a true AT but not as aggressive as say the old BFG KM mud terrain. I have a set on my 90 (previously on my Discovery) and have found them to be a really good tyre both on and off road and they seem to be wearing reasonably well too. Pete.
  16. That's bad luck Geoff, hope you get things sort soon. Pete
  17. Steve, Does this mean that the late 110 shafts are stronger than the standard 300TDi 90 shafts? Pete.
  18. I had a Disco 1 electric seat in my 90 for a very short while as, like Mike, I found the driving position uncomfortable. I was too close to the wheel both horizontally and vertically as the seats are both taller and longer than a standard defender. I probably could have moved the seat back further if I had removed the bulkhead behind the seats (but I don't want to) but there is very little that can be done about the height of the seat-base and even fitting a smaller after-market steering wheel did not help. I to am not exactly tall at 5ft11. I fitted a Britpart replacement seat (as I didn't have the original) like this :- click me and have so far found it to well made and comfortable, plus it retains the ability to remove the seat base. Pete.
  19. Any one got the part numbers for the defender auto transfer lever gaiter and foam insert as shown HERE Thanks in advance Pete
  20. Mike, As far as I know the only tyres you can readily get in 255/85x16 are BFG KM2 Muds and the Cooper Discoverer ST (Like what I have) Pete.
  21. As the ad says 'should have gone to specsavers' Pete
  22. Was it a V config? as if it is, it could be a VW V5. Pete
