  1. GB are you sharing that just for general use or are you hinting that we may have not kept to the code? I believe we have kept to the code. Cheers
  2. and maybe a mug with a special anti "put down on metal surface and its instantly freezing" insulator
  3. if you tell us your front and rear axle weights i can let you know what spring rate would be ideal for your truck using maths and then you could find the closest avaialble option
  4. I've had a few experiences like that, once they know you have clocked them they get a bit shifty. Especially when you dissappear and then turn up behind them. I always make sure to let them know I've clocked them and if possible make it obvious you are taking their registration. The main tip is to know your area, and circling the same loop shows you aren't going to go home until they've gone. As much as I hate to say it I have been forced to definately obey the law like a good citizen before in fear of my (and my vehicles) safety! I have been followed 3 times in total, all in Coventry.
  5. Is that in gear? Clutch up? Sounds like a tdi idling to me haha
  6. in my first year at uni i went on a pay and play day at buildwas. I had just come up out the woods and some pikey types in a black discovery covered in monster energy stickers and a blingy winch asked for my help to get out, i obliged and naively left my truck unattended for all of 45 seconds while i pulled their winch rope up to my towball. finished the recovery only to find my keys missing and they scarpered without so much of a thankyou. Obviously i was highly suspicious, and it was about an hour till the end of the day. No doubt if i had left it on site and come back the next day with a spare set of keys it would have been gone, so i hotwired and smashed the steering lock off my own truck and drove it safely back to harper. i nervously slept that night and woke up to this: someone had forced entry into my truck and tried to take it. luckily the battery was flat as i had hotwired it wrong anyway, my truck was also blocked in that night by a mates 110 and another mates range rover. it seems they had a got at moving the 110 in order to get at mine but eventually gave up as it had only moved about a foot or so. (this 110 door was unlocked by them as the barrel was well worn) After giving up on mine they moved to a mates 90 which was stolen but luckily recovered a few days later minus a set of brand new special tracks and half the dash. I believe they must have come to harper looking for my truck (with my keys) and known its location because of the harper adams presence and window sticker etc. so yeah, be careful everybody. most of all, don't leave your keys unattended in your truck in a public place. P.S. the police did the square root of zilch to find out who did this, even after finding the recovered stolen 90!
  7. Take it to your local battery supplier and ask them for the biggest most powerful battery that will fit in your battery box, that's what I normally do
  8. hope these screenshots of test data will be of help to test the wellbeing of the fuel system:
  9. IMO, making the conversion look right is more respectful of the vehicles history than leaving bits of the old mount on there etc. if anyone suspects the chassis there are more telltales of its originality than just the engine mounts. Like you say, do it right, do it once. if it looks factory its likely to have been done well with many things considered and therefore more likely to give you more enjoyment with less hassle further down the road. As you can tell from my series, i'd rather a land rover worked for the owner than kept its originality (obviously with a couple of exceptions: HUE166 with a TDI would be a little rude for example) and as far as IVA, im no expert but i would have thought for all intents and purposes an engineers report and current MOT pass certificate should cover the legal issues? for that factory installed look, the biggest difference is made by the wiring harness and the radiator hoses. and for that reason i would speak to Autosparks who could build you a factory looking harness for your vehicle and engine choice, and there is a guy on our favorite generic internet auction site who if sent a mock up cut and shut radiator hose, he can make them up one piece out of silicon to that shape, this in black would look quite smart, rather than jubilee clips and joins everywhere!
  10. Seconded. If that's not the case start looking at how clean the earth's are. But just because the battery has voltage doesn't mean it has power, it needs load testing.
  11. On a 300 tdi it should be fairly simple to change the seal in that space, but the spigot bush can be a pig sometimes you can get away with filling the hole with grease, finding a snug fitting socket and short extension (or a short 1/2" drive extension backwards should be a good fit, and hammer it in, the hydraulic action sometimes is enough to press the old one out
  12. The standard door cards do fit over everything, i have them off at the moment to make sure the windows are reliable before i tuck everything away. That thing (terrier?) was something else though wasnt it!
  13. P.s that blue 107 pickup was until the other day, my mates. It was incredible fun to drive I don't know how he could get rid of such a beauty!
  14. It does tend to be the corsa crowd at harper that go overboard with beacons cb's led lights etc. They are mostly first years though and tend to grow out of it haha
  15. i plan to build a house with an attached, central heated workshop one day!
  16. hopefully you get it sorted this time. It looks rather quite smart
  17. just waiting on the new regulator and a gas bottle then i can get to playing!
  18. I have a couple of auto dimming masks at the moment but they have seen their fair share of abuse, and when you can't really see the puddle anymore even with new lenses it's time to get a new one! I wholly agree though, once you get an auto darkening mask you never go back!
  19. more to come when i find them within the depths of my Onedrive
  20. last photo convoy's 2&3 managed to catch up to convoy 1 on the wayfairers due to a breakdown, all sorted in 20 mins though. Just a good pic to show how many trucks the Harper Adams Off Road Club has! There were many who didn't come as it was after the end of term (just before summer ball) all in i think there were 13 trucks on the trip.
  21. The last one (sunset) is on our top field the other night!
  22. here goes, there might be avideo below this: <div id="fb-root"></div><script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/mwb93/videos/10152840785971222/" data-width="500"></div>
  23. Memory map does just this, My tablet (Android, although cant see why Apple isnt just as god at this) does not have 3G therefore i download the maps and routes at home, and use GPS alone out on the lanes. It also records your trip so you can look back later and see how far you went, how long you were driving for, the exact route you took etc.
  24. its not about the size of the tank, its the flow rate required, they are quite thirsty on air. your average compressor is happy with about 4CFM flow max where i suspect that thing probably munches on upto 6CFM
