My winch (ep9) has never been quite right but recently the brake spears to jam on or not hold. I've enquired about new brake arrangement but been told they haven't made them for years.
Now our 110 has a fairey 525 PTO winch and it's phenomenal I love it. What if I could do this in the ibex.......
I've got a PTO drive but it faces forward and hopefully I've got a superwinch PTO winch and shafts coming. Once it's all here I'm going to look into the viability.......

That would at least cut out the middle man.....
Seriously coming that close does give you a new view on what's worth it and what's not. Glad your on the mend.

Well what can I say it was a small show with lots of room to grow. It felt reasonably well organized. With the racing all weekend on the circuit and other car clubs in attendance there was plenty to look at and wonder around. It was great to meet @Badger110 and put a face to a name (sorry I had to run off). Would I go again.... Quite likely but it's local and I like classic car racing.

I wouldn't use RTV for anything except sealing joints in an emergency I'm afraid. I've never used tigerseal but I know it's what foers have used but it is a polyurethane so much like sikaflex.
I have used 252 as well and again it works well.
Mike
The ibex panels are bonded on with tiger seal. They run a grinder with a sanding disc down the bond line, add sealant then clamp. I've done the same using sikaflex 291.

Ex camel would explain the later registration date. A lot of camel trucks were used unregistered or registered in the country they were used in then brought back and dumped around the factory until they got bored of them and registered then sold them off.

Both myself and fridge freezer will be there on the shirelrc stand. I've not been before but quite looking forward to it. You'd be more than welcome to join me/the club or I can join you for camping but I'm only staying Saturday night.

Here's ours the rear windows have been covered over but are still underneath. Just out of correctness it's not a defender but a land rover one ten and yours is a dambed fine example.
Mike
Just looked at the first photo again and the 110 parked alongside is of 85 vintage yours is definitely older original build. I guess it's possible yours is one of the last sliding window out of the factory then it's traveled half way round the world. Failing that it could of come to NZ later and they got the age wrong when registering. If I remember correctly you can decide the chassis number to give the original build year.
Mike
The body style suggests earlier. As far as I know that style was 83-84, 85 went lift up handles but with wind up windows and the rear sliding windows were in a separate frame. Other differences on the earlier 110's are the rear shocks are one front one back, the grill panel has a lock mounted in it, no ash tray in the top dash panel and series pedals. I would think it's an earlier 110 that was registered later perhaps old stock.

A narrow track is around £300 average. Wide tracks about £500 (disc version slightly more) and penman £1000. I find it ironic that a branded normal trailer of similar capacity is considerably more.

It would be relatively easy to fold up a box to fit under the wheelbox. If you can't a fabrication firm should be able to. Then cut a hole through the top and make or buy a hatch (look up marine inspection hatches).
