  1. Especially as foers will build an ibex any length you want with 4, 6 or maybe even 8 wheel drive. You can have pick up, hard top, station wagon or flat bed to name a few. https://www.ibexvehicles.com/ Mike
  2. As has been said above. You could use the 90 rear axle but the truck would need be down plated for weight capacity. If you use most of the 90's parts (bar the parts that need to be 130 or bespoke) you will get an age related plate in fact even if you use two donor vehicles they will pick one to use for the age (depending on which is older/has the most parts in the build). I actually had to try quite hard to get a Q plate on my ibex. Personally rather than build a 90 into a 130 I would buy a 130 and use the 90 to donate the parts to fix it. Or Buy an ibex kit and use the 90 as a donor. (This would be what I would do). Mike
  3. 1990 was TD and 200tdi didn't arrive in defender form till 92 from memory. EX military could have anything in it from N/A to retrofit 300tdi. Mike
  4. I can assure you the door tops leaning in to far is not a bad thing. Standard from the factory they start to lean out at 50mph. Mike
  5. As the sun was out it was a good weekend to pull the heater out. I've always had low air output and had a suspicion the seal to the bulkhead was leaking. Heater out I've made a new seal hopefully shaped to fit better and in much better condition than the one in there. Was toying with doing daveturnbull's swift motor conversion but have decided to leave that for another day. It does feel better but I guess I'll find out on a wet and horrible morning. Mike
  6. Foers still do a 6x6 version of the F8 ibex and it's very cool. https://www.ibexvehicles.com/ Mike
  7. I have a few times wondered about getting one machined up out of aluminium or even steel. Mike
  8. Clearly I'm not normal t..........oh. Mike
  9. Nope it's just you. Mind I did do a chassis swap last lock down. Mike
  10. I think I've now had every type of failure of the clutch. I've had the push rod punch through, the pivot punch through, I've bent one, the pin snap off and the fork the pin is on snap off. On the bright side it's all fixed and back on the road ready for work in the morning. Mike
  11. It let go on my way home yesterday, started to punch through and snapped a pin off. Managed to get the box back enough last night to get it out. Mike
  12. Guess what I'm doing tonight assuming I can get a replacement on the way home from work.... Mike
  13. Being a mini man and a kit car man I've known about the jiffy for years and no. Mike
  14. I don't know what you mean. My first discovery and yes the rear bumper was orange too. Mike
  15. They couldn't even manage to get the bed in line with the body angle on the chassis. Mike
  16. Just seen this on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184664423747 Looks quite well done and not the ugliest thing I've seen. Mike
  17. I definitely prefer the military 101 or Volvo C303/4/6. The Pinz and forward control just don't do it for me. Just wish I had the time and money to progress this past vapour. Mike
  18. I borrowed a locker for ladoga so needed a cheap/quick method of running it. I had a £5 tyre compressor running to an old air ride control panel then nylon hose to the locker. The air ride panel has a switch (l used for the compressor), a guage (so I could pump it upto the required pressure to engage the locker) and a release valve (to release pressure to disengage). It worked well, you just needed to be careful not to over pressure it as it could blow the seals. Mike
  19. And destroys wheel bearings quicker. Mike
  20. Not that your biased. It's even got a bed already installed. it would be interesting to see what it goes for though. Mike
  21. Please don't use that God awful convoluted radiator hose it's horrible. It splits doesn't flow very well and it looks nasty. Mike
  22. Either my point is anything you want can be made road legal as long as you meet the criteria. Mike
  23. I'd put everything that goes on the chassis on before the body. Then assemble the body, rear first but leave the bulkhead loose till the doors, roof and windscreen are fitted and lined up. Connecting brake lines and most of the wiring is easier with the wings off. Mike
  24. I've not used it on the side windows but I used the Woolies small window channel on my doors. They had the same original channel as you've pictured. The Woolies channel has worked well and having used it at work should go round the side window radius with no problems. Mike
  25. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124549370303 To make anything road legal you only need to conform to the IVA manual and test. My freestyle I linked earlier was SVA'ed and road legal. Mike
