  1. Thanks, Ralph. They do look the same. I think I'll get one and give it a try. Regards, Mark
  2. Hello all (Ralph 😉), Does anyone know if there is a difference between the crankcase breather hose for the 200Tdi and 300Tdi? I have found ERR877 as the part number for the 200Tdi as in the attached photo. ERR3084, which is superseded by LLH500170 is listed for the 300Tdi. However, both items appear identical in photo's. The latter is available as a genuine part from Blanchard's, whereas they do not list the former. Plenty of the latter available on Evilbay for not much money, but I'd rather buy genuine if ERR3084 is suitable for the 200Tdi.
  3. Agreed, you appear to be making an excellent job of restoring the vehicle.
  4. Indeed, the kit had both washers and gaskets.
  5. They look great, excellent work as ever, Stephen. regards, Mark
  6. I think this would make an ideal decal for Sid. 👍
  7. I think it was only smoother due to the age of his original engine mounts of 1986 vintage! ðŸĪŠ
  8. You would be better off posting this as a new topic in the Defender forum, it will be seen by more people with greater specific knowledge.
  9. I have the 'new' Glencoyne mounts in my Discovery 200Tdi swapped Series 3. The comparison between that and the Discovery 200Tdi swapped 90 of my brother in law was night and day, mine was much smoother/less vibration. Different vehicles, of course, so not clear cut. However, based on my car, we fitted a pair of the Glencoyne mounts to his 90, it made a huge difference to the amount of vibration and noise. Mark.
  10. Same on the PA Blanchards site, Ralph. I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't fit. Think I'll take a punt on it as the price is good, considering the bearings are good quality. Thanks for the help. regards, Mark
  11. Looking for wheel bearings for a very early ('86) LR 90. Can anyone confirm whether RTC3429 and STC4382 are the same please? Searching for RTC3429 on the Blanchards site suggests they are. This kit on eBay says it is for a Discovery 1, but the part number is given as STC4382. Does anyone know whether there is a difference between the kit for an early 90 and a Disco 1? I notice that the kit in the photo supplies the 2 different types of lock washer, suggesting that it is designed for two different applications. TIA.
  12. I was a little sceptical at first. However, this changed my mind (should never have doubted you), that looks really good, more than acceptable in my humble opinion.
  13. That's a very neat install of the radiator, intercooler and associated pipework. What is the hard pipework from the air filter to the turbo inlet, is it made of metal? Mine is a Discovery engine so different turbo position but I would have loved to have got it anywhere near as neat as yours.
  14. This thread just keeps on getting better. Great work, Stephen.
  15. Sorry to hear this, Stephen. Your pragmatic approach is, I'm sure, the best way of dealing with it. Take care, Mark
  16. It appears that the main topics, traditionally taught in schools, have become less important since I was at school (admittedly a long time ago). Of course, dyslexia is much more widely diagnosed/recognised now. I had never heard of it until long after I left school. Mark
  17. Thanks, Daan, you 'went' where I didn't dare 🙊 ðŸĪĢ
  18. Such sad news, RIP to the great man. He was, inadvertently, the reason why I stumbled across this great forum. I did a google search for information on how to transplant a 200Tdi into a 90/Defender. His guide in the Technical Archive is what I found and it proved to be an excellent resource. Mark
  19. I think it may depend on the year as to whether there is a sliding frame or not. My '84 Series 3 has a square frame that the seat cushion drops into, this is bolted to sliding runners. Unfortunately, I'm unable to get a measurement for you until the weekend. The 2a had a simpler system with an upturned 'U' section across the front of the seat base to prevent the cushions sliding forward but was not adjustable.
  20. Last time I checked, Blanchard's still had quite a lot of genuine parts for the series 3 box. Don't think they have everything but worth a look. Regards, Mark
  21. I've got a lovely low mileage 2.25 petrol coming out of my series 3 shortly, I could be persuaded to sell it at the right price. Oh, you said "super efficient". I'll get my coat.........ðŸĪĢ
