  1. I followed what John did... (He even sent me the fuse holders.... Such a nice chap..) The holders are available from Vehicle Wiring Products. I use insulated crimped blade (female) connectors and did the wires one by one to ensure they went back in the same place as the original. The VWP fuse box has blade connectors on the back. Never had a fuse problem thereafter.. (Apart from shorting things and blowing them !!) Neil
  2. Silly question but have you cleaned / gapped the plugs or tried new? Have you systematically replaced HT leads to see if one failing to deliver a spark (Would notice it far more at low RPM)
  3. Saw a few cars on the M4 earlier today, potentially heading for the event.... (Unfortunately I was heading the other way) Good luck to all those competing.... Neil
  4. Thats something I considered for our trip to Spain in May but as I had a passenger we just used credit cards in the end. Might re-consider for next years trip. The advertising on the site also suggests that apart from your initial refund, you only pay fees for the month the tag is in use and of course the toll costs. Can you confirm this is the case in reality? Regards Neil
  5. I had Superpro for a few years.... I pulled the panhard rod off when I destroyed my front diff only to find the tube in the centre of the bush totally rusted out. The bush looked fine, but the centre couldn't be used again. I've gone back to OEM. Like others, I carry a spare Panhard rod on longer journeys just in case.... Neil
  6. I got one from here http://www.carcomputer.co.uk/index.php?/car-computer-systems/view-all-products?Itemid= Few hundred quid, runs Windows 7 and PSU switches on when ignition on etc. May be worth a look. Neil
  7. I did my timing gear a few months back.. 4.6 block and 3.9 serp front cover (Intermediate) All fitted really well.. Got the timing gear, compression tappets, cam and pushrods from Turners. All fitted a treat. Fitted snugly but was able to fit an remove without implements or tapping the gear home. Neil
  8. I did wonder myself for a while John but it's definitely only happening after rain... There is a visible crack that will definitely accommodate water !! I may try some tape as a temp measure to see if it deflects the rain and proves my theory. At some point the headlining will be removed, sound deadening material applied to the metal surfaces and the headlining replaced... This should solve and potential condensation issues longer term.
  9. I've got a 90 XS with the roof the same colour as the truck... (Darned silly idea if you ask me.... White is so much easier to find a match...) The gutter seal is starting to crack and leak. Because of the colour and cost associated with digging out the seal, sealing and re-spraying the roof, I'm looking for repair options. Is there something that potentially could be poured into the gutter, that is clear (Or can add some paint potentially) that will self level, seep into the crack and then set, potentially not totally solid to allow some flex. I was thinking I could block the drainage holes at each end and then either drill through or un-plug if a solution is available to restore drainage if required. I remember that liquid plastic I used to play with as a kid and seal watch parts or leaves into clear plastic but this may be too rigid for the application required above. I have no issue with completely filling the gutter if it means a permanent solution. Thanks in advance for your ideas.... Neil
  10. I've had a little Lithium Makita one for a few years now. The rattle part does wear with use but it's mighty powerful for it's size....
  11. Do you think getting 2 will save me more on the V8?? Neil
  12. Thanks John... Link passed along to the interested party. Neil
  13. I saw these in the back of a 90 I saw recently... The owner didn't fit them as they were already installed when they got the truck. No obvious badges, numbers or names on the seats. They look much better than the standard Land Rover seats... Anyone know who makes them or where they might come from ? A friend is interested in getting some for their van..
  14. I personally use Co-pilot on my iPhone.. Had it on several phones and find it both cost effective and reliable.
  15. Wow.... That looks like a mad climb.... And as Pete says... Really captured that tyre leaving the rim well.....
  16. Another great trip Barros.... Fantastic movies too....
  17. Tis here Nige... Well done matey.. Neil
  18. I understand the need for the inner geek.... I took the airline to them after two weeks in the dust in Spain.... Came up nice and clean ! Good enough for me.... Neil
  19. I've used these in my cubby box to connect to the onboard PC. http://www.conec.com/catalogs/c1/media/catalog/category-aboutpdf/10031_CON_I_O_09_part_13_GB.pdf Waterproof and therefore dust proof. USB connector both sides so I just use a patch lead to connect to the PC. You can sort out the voltage behind the scenes and connect to the port with standard USB lead. Neil
  20. Similar story here... Fitted X-Charge 3 years ago and no issues at all since installation.
  21. Reset throttle calibration position in software?
  22. I've got two Numax in mine but arranged them to the posotive terminals are on the lower side (nearest the door) and they fit with minimal clearance for the negative terminal to the seat box lid. Fiddly as hell but they are in there without amendmends to the bottom of the battery box to date... Neil
  23. When I bought from them direct a few months ago the steering box arrive packaged well in a large card box with additional inserts to keep the box in place and ensure it didn't hurt itself. Great service. Great product.
  24. Weird... Sent him message asking him to get in touch with you.. Fingers crossed. Neil
