  1. So it's not just me trashing bushes then Chris..... So does this open up the general debate of LR genuine parts versus polybushes ?? Neil
  2. Been looking at the output from my EFi ECU. It would appear that while on the move my water isn't getting above 77 degrees Centigrade. I replaced the thermostat recently and the one I received was 82 degrees opening temp. I believe it should have been 88, but I just needed something that would actually close at the time as I was running very cool. What should I be aiming for? (I'm happy to replace thermostat again...) For info., it's an old RRC 3.9 EFi engine.... Also interesting is that the Durite tacho is way off.... Ticking over at 760 is RPM is reading 1000 ish on the tacho.... 3.5k on the tacho is only 2.3 on the system direct from the ECU.... (Yes the switch on the back is set to 8 cylinders.. and no I don't want a nice diesel instead....) I'm wondering if it's wired incorrectly internally... Doing the sums, looks like it's reading out 6 cylinders but using 8 as a count... Anyone suggest either an adjustable tacho unit (52mm) or digital one ? Neil
  3. Hi Paul.... Welcome to the forums..... I hope this place helps you as much as it has me.... Great soruce of information and a few laughs... (Specially when Ralph stamps his foot..) No need to call him "Sir". He seems to respond well to "Oi you" or "Anyone got a part number for....." Neil
  4. Chris... Sign me up for another event.... (So long as we are around of course.... Hols somewhere in August..) I'll bring me a few panhard rods for the event.. Bound to wear out at least one bush! Also raided the kids piggy banks and told them it was going to a worthy cause..... Neil (What.. What..... Can't go spending the beer money can I !!!)
  5. Thanks for keeping us aware Les.... I'm more than welcome to make additional annual donations. Can you and the admin team recommend what they would like the "regular" users to contribute to keep the board alive. I do not believe we can expect the new or casual browser to contribute until their conscience pricks them.... Neil
  6. Larger LR4X4.COM stickers to cover the blisters....
  7. I vote for cloning some of Dibnah's DNA into another version and getting him to bring it down brick by brick..... At least he had a Land Rover.... Or maybe a long chain and we could pull it over with a few forum vehicles...
  8. They've got to get it into gods V8 fuel format or we'll all be following Diseasels around just to get that crackling / bacon smell... Can't be good driving that slow all the time just for good smells... Maybe we could burn lamps on our dash's to get the smell.. Then we can carry on abusing the planets resources with some conviction...
  9. I'll get you some nice bling blue washer jets with lights and bring them with me when we sort a date Ralph.. Maybe a nice red light to run under your 110 !!! Neil
  10. But it's not "bright".... Maybe I'll consider Orange or Yellow next....
  11. Wot.. No bright red ?? And... Why would you want one ? They recon it'll only do 82 MPH... What sort of a weekend sports car do you call that !
  12. No-where near you and no knowledge of the lanes in the area, but I hope you make it to the full license and get a chance to enjoy the 110....
  13. Ok.. Thanks.. Experimental mode tomorrow me thinks.... Thanks for the guidance so far.... (Will I have any drive after tomorrow... That's another challenge !) Neil
  14. Over the weekend my 110 jumped out of low range when I tried to use it... Since then, I can move the lever to the positions but no drive... (I can hear the gears whirring away) Normal range fine with and without diff-lock. It's a reconditioned transfer box so I'm assuming it's linkage adjustment that's drifted in some way. Can anyone point me to somewhere that describes appropriate adjustment or can someone on here advise from personal experience. I'm trawling the tech archive but not found anything that will help me yet... Thanks in advance. Neil
  15. Jim, Where did you source your VDO guages ? I can't find anywhere that does the gauge and calibrated sender unit as well...... Thanks in advance. Neil
  16. Rambling ? Heavy packs full of stuff they aren't going to use on the walk.... Funny woolen socks outside their trousers.... Paths that go straight through a farmers crop instead of around a small field.... Avoiding Land Rovers rumbling along their chosen path.... Clouds of diesel exhaust as a car makes a climb beside them.... When it comes to it, ramblers are a lucky bunch.... If we weren't there to make their days happier, they'd stop walking...
  17. Thankfully Paul I survived day 2.... Sam wanted to go to some other stuff so by the time we caught up with Chris, others had decided to make their way home... We had a quick dash into the Car Wash so Sam could have a big smile on his face... No lanes for us on Sunday though.... Didn't want to put Sam off for life so we did some stuff for him on Sunday. Thanks again for bringing the Panhard rod over... With Chris's encouragement and shaking of the 110 it was installed within 15 mins... Some of the pics from the trip... (Well quite a few actually...) Chris, if you want some from the aquaduct, let me know and we will make arrangements. I was very pleased to meet you all... I look forward to another outing... Neil
  18. So much better to be in Wales having fun and not being paid to do that either !!!
  19. Just in case it helps, I will be heading over from the North London/Royston area Friday night if you would like a lift to N. Wales.... You can then jump in with Steve for the rest of the weekend... (Steve indicated he's heading over Friday morning) Offering in case people can't skip work on Friday but do want to take the offer of the seat Steve has... Neil
  20. Can't you start now... Should be here for Saturday evening... (Assuming fast plane available...)
  21. Shame to hear that Steve... Sam was looking forward to meeting Howard..... Neil
  22. Fantastic news.... Well done... (Sell the car, you are gonna need the money for other things...)
  23. Ralph.. There would be no room for 7 radios either.. You'd better stay with what you've got matey !
  24. I'd like to change the standrd LR temp gauge to a VDO calibrated one.... I can find the gauge easy enough but not sure which sender will fit the LR Manifold.... Is it the 120 degree 5/8 UNF one shown here ? Link Part number 323801001008 Or can someone advise somewhere selling the gauge and sender specially for LR's? Thanks in advance.... Neil
  25. Ok.. Mrs Freak called off for sure... But.... My son Sam sounds keen to come along... He's 11 so hopefully Sam and Howard will get along... We will be packing the PSP amongst other gadgets for the younger passengers.... Hotel booking made for Friday and Saturday... Look forward to seeing you all there.......
