  1. Just to finish up, earth switching the intermittent relay changed to live switching with an additional 4 pin relay. Now have intermittent wipe when the button is pressed and wash / wipe works all the time regardless of rear wiper button. 👍 Mo
  2. Right, duff relay replaced and success ! Rear wiper now on a 5 second intermittent wipe. Rear washer activates 5 wipes of the rear screen but only does so if the rear wiper is turned on. I suspect this is because I'm switching the relay with the earth so the relay only operates if the earth is connected. I'll wire up a relay to switch the live on the j pin and then have a permanent earth which I hope will resolve that one. Hope this helps someone. Old skool, back of a bit of scrap paper wiring diagram included. Mo
  3. Thanks Simon, It seems to be quite straight forward, having researched it. I fear the relay I'm trying is duff, so tomorrow, weather permitting I'll take the known good one out of the front and try it on the back. In the meantime I've ordered a replacement which I hope will arrive soon. Mo
  4. Thought occurs that 2002 on TD5 dash switch switches the earth. So I may need a 4 pin relay to change that to switching live. Or put an ignition live to the switching terminal on the relay and switch the relay earth terminal. Progress, I think ... If these musings fail to make sense please say so ! Mo
  5. Indeed Ralph, that was in another life 😉 And indeed I do still need an electrical grown up. Mo
  6. Soutie, red at the top, indicators at the bottom. Mo
  7. Afternoon all, I'm trying to get the rear wiper working intermittently using a front wiper relay. Td5 push button switch and a rear wiper of unknown vintage. I can't get it to work. Attached is a picture (old skool 😉) of what I've worked out. Could someone with some electrical nous tell me how it SHOULD be wired up ? I can then compare that to what I've been trying and see where I've been going wrong 😬 Many thanks Mo
  8. Makes you wonder why they didn't make the hole bigger in the first place ! Mo
  9. ... and we all know that God made Land Rovers, Spitfires, tractors and terriers on the same day 🙂😉 Mo
  10. I like tractors and stationary engines much more than Evoques. Perhaps the empty and unused Evoque forum could be repurposed as a tractor forum. I'm sure there'd be more interest the the current incumbent. Just a thought. Mo @Happyoldgit @Anderzander @western @Retroanaconda @landroversforever
  11. Discretion is the better part of valour. Be very careful on the Strata at that time of year. The main crossing can be deep with a very strong current and the pools can be deep especially where the floor drops away to one side which can catch the unwary out. Mo
  12. I have an old imperial Rangy axle on the back of mine. Last new caliper bolts (unloctited) came beautifully individually wrapped in aged brown paper with ink pad stamped quality stamps. Theres something nice about new old stock. Mo
  13. Wonderful, let's go back to agreeing to disagree 👍 Mo
  14. You're answering my post twice ! Lecturing indeed. You Sir, are attempting to provoke an argument despite the moderators attempt to cool the thread. I'll continue to voice my opinions and I'll not be censored by pompous buffoons like you ! Mo
  15. @Peaklander Like it or not the Grenadier exists because of what many here consider to be poor decision making by JLRs management TEAM. Now let's agree to disagree, I can sense @Anderzander twitching from here. Mo
  16. I'd imagine that if anything was going to be damaged, it would have been by now ! Changing the fuel filter housing should be a straightforward task and still should be plenty around if you want piece of mind. Mo
  17. Or maybe a fanboy thread where people only say nice warm cuddly things about Tata/JLR. It's a discussion forum Peaklander, people are going to write things you don't agree with, get used to it. Now fetch your Teddy out of the corner and accept some people are not going to agree with you or have the same views. Mo
  18. My Record 36 opens to 7". Looks to be a bigger vice than yours though but maybe useful for comparison purposes. Mo
  19. They were hugely expensive when I bought them, i had to do it an axle at a time BUT that is an obscene price ! At that price I'd reconsider the superpro which were the best of the poly bushes I tried. Mo
  20. Trouble is if you drop the 300 onto the 200 mounting points your gearbox is going to be too far back so you'll need a stumpy R380. Trying to mount it in the forward position off the 200 mounts is going to be such a complex fab job to make it not worth it. I think theres a reason why people dont do it this way. I dont think you can have your cake and eat it. Either get the Cummins now or leave the chassis until you get the Cummins. HTH Mo
  21. Is Indian management as good as the quality of their manufactured goods ? Mo
  22. I tried most bushes and am now back to genuine rubber. Mo
