  1. But you're a cowboy Ed ! πŸ˜‰πŸ€£ Mo
  2. If it were me I'd be looking to modify the lever assy to put the lever in the same place as the hole in the rubber. I wouldn't want to be modifying the aperture because you can't finish it nicely then. Mo
  3. Is that shaking or impact Ross ? 🀣 It does take a bit more effort than you'd imagine and I can't see it lasting long if you were to thump it everytime you wanted to use it as a security device ! 😡 Mo
  4. The TD5 one can be reset by pressing the button on top but it cannot be activated manually by pulling out a plastic button. The only way to activate it is to shock it by shaking or impact. Mo
  5. Alas you can't do that on the TD5 type. Mo
  6. I have one in my 200tdi, it cuts off the stop solenoid and the electric fuel pump. I used a s/h TD5 inertia switch. HTH Mo
  7. If you've already managed a hole down the middle then just keep going with progressively bigger bits until just short of the hole thread. The remains should then tap round with a small chisel. HTH Mo
  8. If I were to need one I would use this material. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/embossed-aluminium-heat-shield-1000mm-x-1000mm?gclid=Cj0KCQiA88X_BRDUARIsACVMYD_f2ckTBgoM4eNijqva8flCnZrH6Y4SgW9WkyASEmVT3xyqJ3iDLfIaArK0EALw_wcB Mo
  9. Good to see you post again Gordon ! Happy new year ! Mo
  10. Try and find another speedo to swap and try. The speedo electronics also control fuel level gauge stabilisation so I'd be inclined to suspect failure of something in the speedo. Try unplugging and plugging the 2 connectors on the back to start with. Mo
  11. They are made like that to stop them loosening Simon, they are correct πŸ‘ Mo
  12. Since they are ignition switched you should also check the electrical part of the ignition switch under the steering column cover. I have read of several of these failing, either wearing, sparking and then melting the plastic (like the headlamp switch does) or the the back of the switch falling off. Mo
  13. Joey, I'd be looking at the big fuses in the aux fuse box (in the ECU box under the drivers seat IIRC). The supply for all your items that don't work come from here. Check for corrosion and clean fuse holders. Download the TD5 wiring diagrams to help you work out what's what, otherwise you're just flailing around in the dark, guessing. HTH Mo
  14. I'm not allowed in the kitchen drawer because there are sharp things in there 😊 Mo
  15. Merry Christmas everyone ! Mo
  16. I'm looking forward to getting mine ! I ordered on the 1st of Sept. so it's been a long wait but I expect covid is playing havoc with Drew's production schedule. Waiting on ordered new tyres too, bloody covid. And the French! Mo
  17. ... and the windscreen doesn't have a filler strip. Mo
  18. They do look back lit ! Perhaps there is a stray bulb and holder behind the warning lamp panel. Mo
