  1. I wonder how much power it draws? Im sure Fridge is going to come with a really clever answer soon. I remember back in my computer modifying days, you could use a computer power supply for testing computers parts. 12v DC...
  2. So this is why you were asking for Puma sump plug part numbers.. Well count me in Nige when you do the Puma version! Coming up for 10,000miles (23,000 - 33,000) so should have some ford carp in my sump!
  3. Is there a problem with them and you need spares?
  4. Don't run a silencer, no problem!
  5. Just open a new paypal account with a new email address
  6. I've just spent a few minutes googling different diffs, I don't think it looks like a McNamara, KAM, Ashcroft, Maxidrive, Quaife I'm as stumped as you are! Im sure Nige will know!
  7. Engine sump plug 1013938 Clickylinky
  8. Think yourself lucky, my headlights went out at 70mph on the motorway with no street lights. Unfortunately/fortunately there was no cars near me, I was in total darkness. Never have I ever jammed the brakes on and come to a screaming halt so quickly! Had to cut and twist a few wires together under the dash and off i went again!
  9. Its a trick of the eye, the tornado body shell is a good 5" narrower than a defender
  10. My friend sold a 150k Defender 200tdi to a French man for £600. Id advertise it as a "buy it now" on ebay for £700! Im under the impression, due to French motoring laws, they cannot replace an engine with a modern equivalent, it has to be like for like. Therefore French people pay daft money for proper Defender 200tdi engines!
  11. Yes LOTS! Yes Jamies Tornado is/was built predominantly as a road car. Its fitted with Discovery 2 axles with Ashcroft internals. Plenty strong enough for the original 240,000 300tdi auto thats in it!
  12. I towed and pit crewed for the red tornado (75) at 2.20 of the video. Fantastic weekend! 5.25 of the video, v8 90, is Ayresy on the forums who I also pitted for.
  13. I had spoken to Ian at IRB, he told me that on TDCI's generally the turbo face warps before the manifold. HOWEVER GOOD NEWS!!! I was just about to give the studs a bit of WD40 before i strip the turbo off later... ALL THREE nuts on turbo flange had come loose!! 13mm spanner, 13mm socket , extension and ratchet, all mended in about 2 mins. Now... did the come loose, or have they stretched due to getting incredibly hot?
  14. Ive confirmed its the turbo to manifold gasket, its even louder now... new genuine gasket should be here today, lets hope I've no warped my turbo! I was towing a challenge truck on my trailer, laiden with tools and spares on the way back from Kirton. I was doing 35mph up Cromford Hill (mikey should know that how steep and long that hill is) and i think it might have got a bit hot. Id have gone faster if there wasnt a golf infront of me holding me up! God damn you stage 2 alive remap making the engine too powerful for its own good!!
  15. My 2008 puma and started making a noise, Im presuming turbo gasket, just wanting a second opinion! https://youtu.be/QYaCkgL7vDg
  16. Gaz says even with a front sump, clearance is close but not an issue.
  17. Pretty handle example! (take from HERE)
  18. To sum up, becoming the registered keeper on the V5 does NOT mean you are the legal owner. When you buy a vehicle on SORN (or not) any outstand fines do not transfer to the new keeper. But make sure you SORN it as soon as you get the logbook through in the post. You should write to the DVLA for the keepers last known address, write a letter, take photos and copys, send it recorded. You then have proof you have made reasonable effort to contact the owner. If no response within a reasonable amount of time, you have the right to claim it as yours. Register the vehicle in your name, then do as you see fit with it. (typed slowly at the same time as pat_pending) ^
  19. warm it up with a gas axe and give it more hammer.
