  1. Had great fun seeing how my old cars are gettin on!
  2. Jeremy I believe has had personal problems, and cutting a long miserable story short, he is (currently) no longer operating. He has lost his premises and home.
  3. I presume thats Barnaby? Your both useless without pictures!
  4. It was awesome! 3rd year running I've been. Unfortunately I didnt manage to get any photos, but there was more media that ever before. DirtyDiesel and his younger brother were the scrutineers for the event, so Im sure he will give a better account of the weekends happenings
  5. Yes, but he is wanting the LR to replace a tractor. It would be an absolute ball ache leaving the LR in gear all the the time and knocking it out on the transferbox just to use your hydraulics stationary. Crank driven with a electromagnetic clutch system you can turn your hydraulics on and off whenever you need them. Im a farmer and i think you'll be happier just using the tractor
  6. Yes ben it would work, albeit a bit slow! A crank driven / belt driven oil pump would of course be much more user friendly
  7. I've i feeling the torque setting is 47nm and yes, always use locktite, they have a habit of coming undone!
  8. any coloured smoke out the exhaust? Does it make any difference if its hot or cold?
  9. If I come down in my 90, could I be positioned on a checkpoint/position where I can drive down? The site is not very friendly for sitting in the elements for a very long day or for dragging chairs and food/water down, and then back up!
  10. Slowly slowly! I've got nissan patrol axles and a growing list of goodies
  11. SFP100470AP just like these... http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/rear-brake-sfp100470ap-sfp100490ap-sfp500130ap-p-15.html
  12. Td5 without doubt, central locking*, electric windows* and more power etc etc *can be fitted to a 300tdi easily
  13. The rock steps were sponsored by UK Winch Ropes, and were purposefully made to be winched up. They set a UK event away from American events, as its well known the UK is famous for winching! I must add, your slating the "xtreme" scene, but do you not see in the states rock buggys that go fast is the cool thing to be doing? I think it would be good for the UK off road scene to make off roading a bit more "cool". There is room for so many more companys here where the more extreme style offroading hasnt caught on yet. You old boys seem to be... well... too old.
  14. If theyre rated at 30,000 hours, thats 900,000 miles at 30mph..
  15. To fit later style range rover (or Disco2, Vw t5 or BMW x5) wheels to a defender you need a set of adapters. Available on ebay Without loading the link on my phone, I presume your talking about disco "deepdish" alloys, these are the same pcd or stud pattern as a defender and will bolt right on.
  16. Check turbo hoses for excessive oil first Id be looking stem seals
  17. Local hydraulics place, take old pipes and ask to have them remade but X inches longer.
  18. Have a good pump here for £80. The fuel pin of the bosch VE pump should be quite heavily greased as its not lubricated by diesel etc.
  19. Do you have a spacer fitted behind the lift pump?
  20. They are also the bolt holes used to secure the harmonic damper. They are blind holes, its probably just old oil weeping out after you've wiped it.
  21. This might help a bit! I would definitely use the 1.4:1 transfer box. The starters are the same.
  22. boost / turbo pipe split, blocked air intake, black smoke is a sign of not enough air, so check the cheap and easy air pipes first.
  23. I have seen a few trucks at events with the radius arms mounted on top of the chassis.
