  1. I presume he's talking about standard bearmach drive flange replacements. not the HD flanges?
  2. Ive just fitted a set, quality is just as good as genuine.
  3. I was convinced my drive line judder was caused by my DMF, put a new one in, new clutch etc etc.... it was just the drive flanges were worn out.
  4. A lot of the hydro boys have their PRV's set below the point of breaking a winch line. Snapping a winch line loses huge amounts of time over just re-positioning or moving a branch. (snapping winch lines isn't much fun either!)
  5. The odd sized wheels will make it pull to the side.
  6. I fitted my delta-tek mainshaft a couple of weeks ago (after the indoor show) Fantastic, I have used the winch with anger, and so far so good. The lynchpin in the end to hold the brake mechanism on is a simple, easy solution. It makes removal of the brake mech much easier, so I find myself removing and washing it out more often. I have the gigglepin billet brake discs and the gigglepin uprated brake shoes which all fit perfectly on the Delta-Tek shaft.
  7. I don't think the td5 ecu "learns" anything.
  8. Hi, i've just been asked to do a welding job on a p38 range rover, now i know these were particularly bad for electrical gremlins, is there anything in particular i should disconnect before i start welding?
  9. mudmagnet, where are you based? If your local i'll gladly take a look for you
  10. I've generally just pulled them out with my finger, but if i couldn't I'd use a carbide bur in a die grinder. Carbide burs are useful for just about anything, grinding nuts and bolts off manifolds and starter motors saves a HUGE amount of time.
  11. Bought a second hand nanocom from ebay, its arrived with no software disc to install it. Can some kind person either point me at a download, or email me the setup file? thanks!
  12. The if thats a defender 200tdi pump it should be ERR1333 discovery 200tdi pumps are either ERR459 or ERR1985 All three are interchangeable.
  13. I'm hoping to pop up too, seems as its literally over the hill from me! Look forward to seeing this G, the TDS freespool looks good!!
  14. a 200tdi would drop straight in and bolt up, with a bit of a tweek on the fuel pump combined with the weight of a S1 they shift very very well. They do however like popping half shafts!
  15. We have used several of these units, they quite often come bundled in when you buy a new cheapish winch. I've seen them interfere with other peoples winches at pay and plays quite often. I personally don't like using them, they are too unreliable. To spool in our ropes we generally wrap a tree strop round a tree and winch towards a tree. Keeps the rope nice and tight to.
  16. All lifting equipment on a farm should be LOLER certified, you should have been listing harder at Harper
  17. Thats a wheel spacer to make you wheels stick out more. You don't need to have these fitted, and I personally wouldn't fit them either! looking at the grime on that spacer, it looks like the wheel isnt fitting perfectly flush to it. If i were you, id remove all your wheels, bin the spacers and give the mounting face of the alloys a good wash and wirebrush. Do the same to the mounting face of the hub and refit with correct nuts. I do my wheel nuts up to as tight as i can by hand with the standard vehicle wheel brace, this is plenty and i've never had a wheel nut come loose.
  18. Buy one with metal ends too, the plastic ends tend to crack!
  19. jiggling wiggling poking and prying generally does it! It doesnt happen very often, infact only read about it twice, but they can get completely wedged together.
  20. I didnt know MOT stations actually tested your emissions?! every time i go in they warm the temp probe up in the kettle (special emissions warming kettle) then stick the gas probe up a brand new volvo handily parked by the doors... would it not be easier to go to a different test station?
  21. imho the td5 engine is the best engine land rover ever fitted, Id look at fitting a low mileage replacement or rebuilding. I have a friend who has a D2 with a 300tdi fitted. He loves it!
  22. from the ashcroft website... A common problem with all ZF 4HP22/24 boxes is the failure of the one way "sprag" clutch. Once the cams in this one way sprag clutch "flip" the unit will slip both ways resulting in the vehicle only pulling off with the shifter in position "1" not "D" and driving OK when shifted up to position 2,3 and D until you stop then you need to pull it back to "1" to start off again. It is not feasible to change this unit in each rebuild as this one part is approx £400. By disassembling the "sealed unit" we were able to examine the profile of the cams and understand how they work, from here the challenge was to find another cam from another type of autobox that would fit and had the correct profile to make the unit stronger by not allowing the cams to flip. After quite a lot of searching we found one, "re-cammed" some of these clutches and thoroughly tested them, we have not had one fail since. This is an example of how we are able to use our engineering background to understand a problem and cost effectively make the unit stronger without having to raise our prices.
  23. We stayed here http://www.gigrin.co.uk/ very friendly site, toilet facilitys etc wasnt very expensive either. We camped here when it was -16. Make sure you take a good sleeping bag!
  24. Simply, no they wont. If you take measurements of your current props (collapsed length) i could measure the props in my shed and give you a part number of the closest one
