  1. Does anyone know what the correct "term" for the shielded wire you would use for a crank shaft sensor? It's two core and has a earth/ shield. It's a bit like coaxial cable. I'm struggling to find it and I have a sick Td5. Thanks
  2. I'm going to copy a 300 tdi defender loom I have as they're impossible to get second hand or new. The only connector I'm struggling to get is the white 6 pin one at the Bulkhead end. Does anyone know a scource for them? I think it's an Econoseal type.
  3. Catch it now on both sides before it wrecks the wiring and ecus in there, pretty common fault in them.
  4. Front wiper rack and motor is the same and the do give trouble. Rear wiper is the same iirc.
  5. That's a good price when I priced it it was between £55-80 depending on if it was tintable or not. I struggled to get it in two pack seems to be 1 pack now.
  6. Does anyone know the part number or have a diagram of the drivers side tub side/wing for a 05 td5 double cab tub? I think the CSW would be the same.
  7. I've bought it, but not used it yet. Ive two Defenders to paint before I get near mine. A few people I know in the trade have used it with good results. It's like anything with painting the better the prep the better the finish.
  8. If you don't fancy doing the wiring you can buy kits from these guys. http://www.mobilecentre.co.uk/upgrades-for-land-rover-vehicles-heated-screen-engine-pre-heaters-c-36_213.html
  9. I've a Snap on puller (CJ119B) for them and it's not been beaten yet plus being snap-on if it does break i get a a new one
  10. Check the condition of the starter while your in there, normally with a DMF when it fails the starters aren't too far behind.
  11. Try Frida at Tuner Engineering http://turner-engineering.co.uk/ absolutely fantastic people to deal with and very knowledgeable.
  12. 10AS boxes can be a real pain in the behind The roof sensors can give a bit of bother when they get damp. Have you any indicator flashing sequences to go with the beeps? The wiring where it goes into the doors and under the regulator panel for the central locking can rub through as well.
  13. Im not 100% sure, but i think the td5 and V8 BCU's are inter-changable.
  14. If you take it to a paint factors they can colour match it with the gun.
  15. The T4 can update the software, not on the early MSB ECUs on on the NNN type. Some programmers even in there remaps have coding so the T4 doesn't automatically overwrite their files.
  16. As a few have said it depends who the person is really.
  17. As far as i remember they are all inter-changable apart from a V8, but all you have to do is swap a terminal on them.
  18. Mine went down with them, but all insurance has risen this year. Land Rover is the second most stolen vehicle after the Ford Transit.
  19. The white plug between your fingers is for a loom that goes across the rear of the seat box for a Double cab or CSW 110 that does the central locking and door light switches.
  20. I've had a brand new Britpart one leak at the seam.
  21. Just go to a local place it'll be cheaper (no postage) and you'll get advice and what you actually need.
  22. I've used U-pol stuff before and it's normally good which is pointing me that direction. U-pol rocket hardener is the absolute dogs wassits! How did you find the coverage?
  23. I'm tempted by the U-pol raptor stuff the applicator seems very similar to the waxoyl gun at around £12 where as the linex system needs a special system. It's coming in at about £60 for 4x750ml and 1l hardener plus it's tintable which is a bonus! Considering a genuine rear mat is about £140 i think it seems good value.
