  1. If you don't have to lift it, don't, even on a non-lofted truck access is pretty good just rolling under. If you do want to lift it, a proper LR bottle jack is often better(from the axle tube), though nothing to stop you using a trolley on the diff pumpkin, as long as it has a reasonable footprint, and not some cheap nasty thing. Then axle stands as required, again on the axle tube, normally, though you can put them under the chassis if working on suspension that requires it.
  2. I'd see what colour the oil is that comes out, if only rebuilt 8K ago I can't see what removing the sump will tell you any more than looking to see if the oil has sparkles in it.
  3. Try running navigation in the background/as an overlay, it fixes it for me....
  4. To clarify, I was going to keep one medium size bow shackle for stuff like that, plus a lot of the soft shackles jow come with sheaths that protect them from the sharper edges. In LGT I'm not going to be recovering anything much heavier than I am, so the decision was made to focus on what I needed to get myself out, as selfish as that may seem, but in reality if there is a long hard pull to be done, it would be more likely done by someone else entirely.
  5. Direct from Adwest 10 years ago.... Beloved by the comp safari drivers, but ultimately slightly weaker than a stock 4 bolt, if rumours are found to be true.
  6. One of the reasons I've got all my shackles listed for sale is because I want to shift to having no metal liable to fly anywhere if possible. One of those rings are likely to be on the shopping list.
  7. Summit Racing do international shipping: https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/tires/tire-specialty/mud-terrain
  8. Didn't realise the taxi used the same box.... 1.5 turns may be a bit too fast for me. Have to admit, my quick ratio 4 bolt(2.5 turns I think) is lovely, driving any other LR feels soooooo slow.
  9. Normal winches just use a cammed twisty bit to lift the freespool... And yes, that's how the Goodwinch one works, pull to go into freespool.
  10. An 88 V8 should have a low pressure fuel pump anyway, shouldn't need a regulator.
  11. Use an in tank, much quieter, easier and cheap. I have two red tops on mine, they clank away so.... So.... Much.... Almost painful.
  12. Strop, couple of shackles... Jack... Umm Some time this year a winch and soft shackles. Gotta keep things light!
  13. Yes I think I found them, they were getting on for £20 or something daft!
  14. Yep, as per: 🫣 Cheaper than two at £20 which fail after a month. I tried a black topped Wurth one, was fine for a few weeks, then I let it sit for a month or so, came back and all the seals had swelled up and wouldn't pump up any more.
  15. I nearly made a similar comment, £18 tool, risking an £80 battery
  16. Here you go: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233375409415?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=IO4Gy46VRjq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=AFY_9vavSse&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Even has Bremsenreiniger written on it.
  17. I have all the bits bar a crush spacer to make your 1.2 a 1.4 for sale, if you are interested. And yes, Nige, had forgotten that, but ARB ones are NLA, I'm certain yours are better of course....
  18. Unknown, but no parts for Rd03 available which is the early 10 spline ARB.
  19. All correct, having swapped from 3 to 4 bolt on LGT it required new lines and to use the 4 bolt bolts.
  20. Less likely to leak, and the internals are a bit stronger than ARB. Much more engagement vs ARB, meaning thy more positively lock. ..... And parts availability over here is much better. Price wise an ARB is around £1000, Ashcroft is more like £600. If you want the sticker to out on your truck it will cost you a fair bit! The other option is a detriot style locker in the rear, and then a locker in the front, less buttons to press
  21. Ashcroft are cheaper and in many ways better.
  22. Yup, inspirational, and jealous all at the same time. Thank you, Stephen.
