  1. On here, means UK or forum? If forum, then our team is going to start in hard cetegory. start no. 18a,b
  2. I have turbo pack installed for a while and i it is working well( TDS9.5 deep drum). it is switching from paralel circuit to serial. I must not have anything esle connected to second battery. Alternator is still connected to primary battery and when it is in 24V mode alternator is charging only primary battery. When in 12V mode batteries are paralel so it is charging both. when comes to winching it is always more than just slight pull. And sometimes i am using also 24V for more than medium pulls to gain extra power without any problem so far.
  3. looks like this: http://www.firstfour.co.uk/discovery-i/discovery-i-shadow-wrapround-tubular-winch-bumper-2044616-227977-622491.php
  4. all from Disco 1 and defender( except salisbury drum brakes) will fit. with salisbury you have to shorten propshaft, with rover axle( from 110) you need little longer propshaft because diff nose is shorter.
  5. If you stick with borg warner you will have also problem with crossmember under transmission. you will not be able to use wide angle posibilities of prop because it will touch crossmember( lift front end, let front axle hanging and check it). And when it is not touching crossmember yet, you dont't need wide angle necesarily I have currently in my RRC borg warner with about 2-3 inch lift, +5 inch terrafirma shocks with standard front shock mounts( air suspension version). At front i still have standard propshaft. It is touching crossmember when front axle is hanging on shocks. I am going to change borg warner for LT230.
  6. I cannot count how many times i have checked wiring with scheme from extraefi web page( for EDIS8). In yesteday's test i've connected just EDIS and coilpacks. So i didn't change wiring for ECU. But few weeks ago i've tried to use existing wiring from hotWire system. but without success. In my first attempt i installed whole system in one moment( EDIS, MS) using Hotwire loom. As i couln't find why it is misfiring i decided to put it all to original state and start again with smaller steps. First step was EDIS and coilpacks. EDIS, coilpacks and connectors are used from triggerwheel( but working in othar car) plug leads are new from triggerwheel Massive misfire means: -idle is bit rough but acceptable, misfires only once a time -when engage gear( automatic transmission) it starts misfire massively
  7. Hello, yesterday i again spent some time with trying to setup MS ans EDIS conversion on my 3,9V8. Few weeks ago i give up first battle with new system and put it all back to original Hotwire setup( now it is working great again). I had massive misfire to exhaust which i couldn't identify why. Yesterday i installed just EDIS with coils for test with rover ECU. And it did misfire again. Wiring is 100% correct( based on informations from extraefi). Timing is solid at about 10 degrees. EDIS module is working in different car with no problem. Do you think that cause of problem could be camshaft? thanks ET
  8. front ones are different with LT230 and borg warner. So Disco one will not fit RRC with borg warner.( propshaft for Borg Warner have to be longer). Rear ones as FF said...but no big deal to change it.
  9. Non of those problems with janspeed. Although manifolds are very close to chasis. I've found very problematic to fit manifolds to heads. VERY bad access to screws.
  10. I bought complete Janspeed system. Headers are no SS, the rest is. In my opinion it is much louder. Although sound is very strong...If i knew it before i probably wouldn't bought it. It is OK when driving on roads( heavy acceleration - perfect) but i don't like it when offroad. When offroad i don't like very loud cars and this is the egde where it is acceptable and where not. Tubular headers are also moving torque up in RPM range( i read somewhere) and i have same feeling. It is more revy(i)?
  11. I wouldn't bother with rebuilding front end. One of advantages of current solution is that current belt is capable to transfer more energy than V-belt.
  12. Hello, you are searching for: http://www.famousfour.co.uk/new_parts/part_info.php?partID=4165 It is driven directly from crank pulley, just pass( touch) PAS pulley onto alternator pulley. It is one of inventions in LR... pretty standard in RRC and Disco1 around 93 - 94( because i have two of them and both are the same).
  13. many times last time this weekend. Not pin, but three tooths from sun wheels. Worst scenario was deep in Romania woods 600km from home...
  14. Here are some pictures what i made yesterday. I was not able to mount it to same position like on my other RRC because this one is Air Suspension version and there is shock mount. It fitted there perfectly.
  15. I am going to deal with same problem tonight Picture show how i sort this out in my second RRC.
  16. Yesterday i lost my patience with it. It ended up thinking that my engine must be damaged...So put everything back to original setup to be sure it is OK. It is running perfect. I will try to work on MS later and in little steps. First of all i will try to setup just EDIS...and i will see if it will work...
  17. Hello, i have little problems with MS2 with EDIS in my RRC 3.9. I wired up system based on wiring diagram from extraefi( hotwire) using EDIS setup. With bid of luck trigger wheel offset is just 1 degree. And now the funny part. Everything is wired correctly( based on wiring diagram). Checked/measured all cables, connections three times). And i have massive misfire into exhaust and engine is running rough( shaking and it looks like it doesn't running on all cylinders). I was trying to setup Req fuel, spark...etc without success. Also tried to use msq file from same setup( MS2+EDIS which is running perfect) without success. After two weeks of trying to persuade it to running i lost my patience and got rid of coilpacks and wired up again standard distributor. With distributor it doesn't misfire and running is far better but not good. Ingition signal is wired to -ve of ignition coil but RPM signal is VERY wild. it is jumping from 0 to i don't know where...and when you look at fuel table etc. is jumping randomly all over place... Do you have idea where could be problem? Is there some additional circuit needed for connection with standard distributor and coil? thanks
  18. Hello, i did same swap on friends RRC, but don't remember about mounts. If you have originals from BW then use these...Propshaft will be somewhere 640mm long...
  19. Good luck... You're right that Head unit is without amplifier. And signal cables from head unit have same ground. I've changed head unit for Sony( Original is damaged). I am using existing speaker setup( but also changed for Sony because originals was damaged). Only thing i've used is wiring( not connectors). Now i am fighting with Subwoofer. Sony that i am currently using don't support subwoofer. So i need to buy one with soubwoofer out functionality and amplifier for subwoofer. Reason of all this is that someone very inteligent was trying to steel audio system from car, but all he did was cutted wires and damaged head unit, CD changer...
  20. Strongest setup what you can build from LR parts is Salisbury axle with difflockers and heavy duty halfshafts... salisbury have strongest( but bigest) casing. Also Ring and pinion are much bigger. As you want to fit diff lockers don;t bother how strong are standard diffs. ARB diff is OK. Standard halfshafts in Salisbury are quite strong( my opinion) but there is also option of heavy duty version( ashcroft - rear only). Friend of mine is now building bobtailed Defender110 with both coil salisbury axles with ARB difflockers. He is leaving there standard halfshafts( as i said, they looks quite strong).
  21. i am sure you've checked that but i have almost same sympthoms when timing was 360 degrees retarded. That was reason why i mentioned that. In my case i had to turn crankshaft 360 degrees to TDC and set it again for 1st cylinder. When it was incorrect it sometimes fired, but only due to residual fuel in cylinders.
  22. is there spark at right moment? Not to try fire up when on exhaust cycle?
  23. also 3.9 have different fitting( rubbers) I had 3.5EFI( hotwire) in my car which i changed to 3.9 with complete new exhaust. I was not as straight fitting as would thought...
