  1. Any D1/D2 rack will fit depending on if factory roof rails are fitted or not.
  2. Why garden sprayers ? if for pumping oil just use one of those 1l bottles with hand pump.
  3. Wet floors usually mean blocked air con drains but i wouldnt think that to be much of a problem in the UK even in summer.
  4. Just replaced all my bj's in the last few months which were the original's from 1998, Victorian mud isnt as abrasive as that red bull dust.
  5. I like both but would chose the TD5 purely for range and longevity, not that you guys need to worry about range - go too far and you'll fall of that little island .
  6. A mate of mine used an RRC shell cut down to a ute and fitted it to a 300tdi chassis, he then fitted the complete D1 dash . Took a lot time drilling out spot welds then welding d1 dash metal in place, it now has a td5 and d2 dash.
  7. Mine has been on for 9 years, if it can take aussie summer heat then then your tiddle poor excuse for summer wont affect it
  8. Not sure about snorkle's there but i have a safari snorkle with square filter box and the largest battery you can fit in the aux. tray (105AH dual purpose crank / deep cycle ).
  9. RRC with TF727 used a solid shaft also.
  10. Boydie are you sure that 2.5 is not in fact a HS2.8 ? As said there were no 2.5 Isuzu's fitted to Aus Landy's, only the 4BD1 and 4BDTt in certain Perentie models. Plenty of 4BD powered RRC's and 110's on AULRO and even 1 guy with one in his D1, easy to fit if you use the LT95/LT85 or now the isuzu MSA box is being mated to the LT230.
  11. Sorry mate, i was having issues before i got a chance to replace the tie rods.
  12. Mine is an 01/98 build 300tdi non edc model, no spider behind the the dash so i'm open to suggestions as to where it may be if it is there. My 2 button fobs work perfectly and the only issue that is pissing me off is no power to the injection pump solenoid and no glow plugs (not really an issue here ). On the US landrover form a post mention cutting and joining a couple of wires before the alarm module but that didnt work for me.
  13. What year is your disco ? I've been chasing an imobiliser issue for about 3 years and still unable to fix it, mine has disabled the glow plug circuit which was a pain this winter since it was one of the coldest on record. Late D1's dont have a spider so dont go pulling the dash apart looking for it.
  14. I can tomorrow for you, going to replace my tie rod ends so it will be easy to run the tape out. Bear in mind the adjustment sleeve on the RH side.
  15. Sounds like rotoflex coupling or front prop uni's , flex plate problem should be evident with engine running at all speeds.
  16. As with any landy engine transplant the transmission is the hardest part especially if you want to keep the LT230 which is by far LR's best transmission, i had thought of a hemi conversion years ago to my 85 RRC with TF727 which i believe the hemi still uses the old Chrysler bellhousing pattern.
  17. Are you using an LT230 adapted to the merc 722 auto ?
  18. All liquid cooled engines with have a hot top rad hose ( and bottom ) if it didnt it either has the t/stat removed or no coolant.
  19. I would blank off the factory water pump and use an electric pump.
  20. GT2260V works well , found on bmw X5's.
  21. It does sound like the delay function for the petrol start on lpg is faulty, can you try another module ?
  22. Mine is a 98 build so it doesnt have a spider unit ( i believe 97/98 years dont have them ), the immobilizer is built into the alarm module.
  23. Due to my immobiliser issues i am thinking about replacing the module with a working one, if i do this do i use the same procedure as when syncing new fobs to the alarm or is it more involved ?
  24. Poly bushes dont press in ( RRC/D1/ 110/90/130), they generally fall in which is why i wont use them. Plus in our mostly dry climate i have found that dust gets in and chews them out , only place i will use them is in the panhard rod as it gives a more positive feel than rubber and is more resistant to oil (steering box leak more often than not). They are good for leaf sprung models though and should only require a gentle tap to get them in.
