  1. For all those who are contemplating doing this job, ive been sitting here for 3 hours reading through the manual online !!! It says take the plate off that holds the resistor pack so you can gain access to the electrical plug. Instead of ripping off yer skin and half the dash
  2. Well an update ............. Managed to get the resistor pack changed over Had to get the top of the dash off to disconnect the red plug as it wouldn't pull through due to being attached to the wiring harness The heater now works on settings two and three The air con works on all three settings so I'm guessing the first setting for the heater just isn't strong enough to push the blower? I'm now swithering as to leave the dash off and source a blower or try it now running on the lower settings.
  3. Haha. The Claude is awaiting the summer Thanks fo that, I'll prob end up doing the full job................shush don't tell her indoors
  4. :D Oh the joys........... Time to start selling stuff Anyone need a brand new Claude butler mountain bike?
  5. Jasus !! £190 for the blower? I've had the front grills off and seen the resistor located on the LH/Side (sitting in the RRC). Four wires connected if I remember. So I'll try get in and get to the plug for refitting the resistor. I take it, it's gona be the blower job that the dash needs to come out for? Hmmmm her indoors isn't gona be happy about £190 I'll see if I can locate a second hand unit........... Then the only worry would be how long that would last
  6. Happy Friday guys and girls I've decided I really need to get my heater fixed as it now is sounding like a chopper hovering outside the front window It's only been working on the usual 3rd setting for about a year which I could live with as I'm in Scotland which isn't the warmest So can anyone guide me to a full write up/manual which shows pics etc to do the job? I know it may involve getting the dash off to do it, but I think it'll be well worth it. Ta muchly
  7. Ahh right! Good luck on tracking down the drainage.
  8. Puddle lights? Rear tail gait light switch on mine was well sticky and kept interior lights on too. Ended up taking the bulbs out inside. Assuming it's the RRC in your avatar
  9. Sh** ! I've just fitted a K&N to my 3.9 V8.

  11. Here's what your expansion tank should look like
  12. Not sure the cap on your expansion tank is the same as it would be on a 3.5 ? Are you leaving the expansion tank kinda half empty? Allowing for expansion? Mines had a faulty cap on it and was losing water which was worrying as it could have been the head gasket alright.
  13. I'm guessing in the factory it would have been much easier fitting it to the engine without having to tip toe over the front grill, get your hand down the back of the dizzy whilst holding it in place with one finger whilst another finger holds the gasket, then another finger holds the housing in place as the other hand try's to screw in the bolts.
  14. From what I remember doing mine it was a very fiddly and very annoyingntrying to get the gasket to stay and then thread it back together. Good luck
  15. It's a strange world insurance. My £380 quote from Adrian fux was squashed by performance direct to £180 With ALL mods added
  16. I'm with performance direct and they agreed my value with all my mods on it. Good quote too
  17. Hiya folks Looking to replace my tired old steering damper on my 2" lifted RRC Any thoughts on which would be the best one to get? I have seen a few posts and suggestions on the blisten one, but wanted a few opinions please Cheers
  18. I'm running 265/75/16 on my original ranger rover alloys. Insa turbo special tracks in my opinion are the Tyres to go for. They rub a little when offroading when articulation is a lot. I've only taking a slight cut from the front wings to help so it's not a great amount of work with the old angle grinder:) Hope that's of some help
  19. http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/RANGE%5FROVER%5F1986%2D1994/Engine%5FParts/Water%5Ftemperature%5Fsensor%5Fto%5FECU%5F%2D%5F3%2E9%5FV8%5FEFI.html Use the part number to search on google etc. You might be able to get one posted cheaper or take it to your local stealer
  20. Sounds like it could be your CTS ( coolant temp sensor) It'll not realise your engine is heating up and still throw lots of fuel in therefore giving the impression of overfuelling. It above your thermostat housing. Contact plug connected to it. Unscrew and fit a new one.
  21. I think the nut undo's in reverse motion
  22. No one? It's gone quiet.......... Further development......... Done the winch motor test this evening, "A" terminal to F1 and run live to F2 winch motor is ok and running. So........anyone? The only other thing I can think of is the fact that the solenoid negative spade terminal connection should be split from the wireless remote negative and run one of them seperatly to the winch itself??
  23. If it's the "bog brush" type it's just a straight through. Had to replace mine this year as it was corroded.
