  1. Ahh right! Good luck on tracking down the drainage.
  2. Puddle lights? Rear tail gait light switch on mine was well sticky and kept interior lights on too. Ended up taking the bulbs out inside. Assuming it's the RRC in your avatar
  3. Sh** ! I've just fitted a K&N to my 3.9 V8.

    ABS BRAKES

Might help if you tell us what kind of landy you have etc...........
  5. Here's what your expansion tank should look like
  6. Not sure the cap on your expansion tank is the same as it would be on a 3.5 ? Are you leaving the expansion tank kinda half empty? Allowing for expansion? Mines had a faulty cap on it and was losing water which was worrying as it could have been the head gasket alright.
  7. I'm guessing in the factory it would have been much easier fitting it to the engine without having to tip toe over the front grill, get your hand down the back of the dizzy whilst holding it in place with one finger whilst another finger holds the gasket, then another finger holds the housing in place as the other hand try's to screw in the bolts.
  8. From what I remember doing mine it was a very fiddly and very annoyingntrying to get the gasket to stay and then thread it back together. Good luck
  9. It's a strange world insurance. My £380 quote from Adrian fux was squashed by performance direct to £180 With ALL mods added
  10. I'm with performance direct and they agreed my value with all my mods on it. Good quote too
  11. Hiya folks Looking to replace my tired old steering damper on my 2" lifted RRC Any thoughts on which would be the best one to get? I have seen a few posts and suggestions on the blisten one, but wanted a few opinions please Cheers
  12. I'm running 265/75/16 on my original ranger rover alloys. Insa turbo special tracks in my opinion are the Tyres to go for. They rub a little when offroading when articulation is a lot. I've only taking a slight cut from the front wings to help so it's not a great amount of work with the old angle grinder:) Hope that's of some help
  13. http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/RANGE%5FROVER%5F1986%2D1994/Engine%5FParts/Water%5Ftemperature%5Fsensor%5Fto%5FECU%5F%2D%5F3%2E9%5FV8%5FEFI.html Use the part number to search on google etc. You might be able to get one posted cheaper or take it to your local stealer
  14. Sounds like it could be your CTS ( coolant temp sensor) It'll not realise your engine is heating up and still throw lots of fuel in therefore giving the impression of overfuelling. It above your thermostat housing. Contact plug connected to it. Unscrew and fit a new one.
  15. I think the nut undo's in reverse motion
  16. No one? It's gone quiet.......... Further development......... Done the winch motor test this evening, "A" terminal to F1 and run live to F2 winch motor is ok and running. So........anyone? The only other thing I can think of is the fact that the solenoid negative spade terminal connection should be split from the wireless remote negative and run one of them seperatly to the winch itself??
  17. If it's the "bog brush" type it's just a straight through. Had to replace mine this year as it was corroded.
  18. Well the clicking has returned!!!! would te fact that the solenoid is mounted on it's side make a difference?? For the life of me I can't figure out what the hell is wrong !!
  19. I've got some heavy stuff on mine so it doesn't get the best MPG mind. Would be better on road tyres etc
  20. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=12331 although this talk through states new hydraulic pipe be made up. When I moved mine I undone the brackets securing the cooler, pushed the pipes back (towards engine) and moved the brackets up and redrilled holes for them.
  21. About normal I would say. My mate also has a 3.9 disco and that also worked out at about 10mpg
  22. If it's clicking away whilst it happens it sounds like the ABS working. Brake fluid levels ok? If your pedal is very soft it might be air in the system. ?
  23. Any development on your tapping noise? Interested in this as mine has been making a tapping noise for about a year now. It's fine when running around at 30 MPH but when I go on motorways etc to 50MPH then it ticks quite loudly. Been wondering if it's tappets or not. I use 20W50 mineral oil but have contemplated using racing oil by Lucas to try protect it more. It's doing my nut in : D
