  1. I had a rover 100 amp alternator on my 200tdi. They are very cheap, and only need slight alteration of the brackets to fit. There's a post somewhere on here with the part number. I'll see if I can't track it down
  2. I was looking at 130's with exactly the same idea. I was put off by how limited the turning circle was. I ended up buying a 110 commercial station wagon. Must admit I still fancy a 110, and feel I could get used to the turning circle but heard so many horror stories of people getting shut after a short period of ownership. Probably does not help at all but thought I let you know my experience. Cheers paul
  3. just fitted the 2nd row seats for the first time in my 110 csw. I went Exmoor Trim route and must say I'm very happy with the highbacks I bought. In hind sight the only thing I might change would be to go down the vynl route as cloth is harder to keep clean
  4. John Craddocks had some new galv ones that seemed a good price for new bullet proof doors. Its just a case of building up with the old internals. Or if your investing in new doors all new internals. Yes I know its expensive, but if the jobs good from the start........
  5. gas axe and very long axle stands where another boon when I did mine as well as making sure I had plenty of spares as already said. I put new bushes and a-frame ball joint on prior to the axle which made things easier. The ball joint holder bolts tend to be rusted in btw
  6. OK, want to have a Southdown snorkel again, but cannot figure it the silly bars that come down from the roofrack to the windscreen ears will get in the way. Anybody any thoughts please?
  7. I use POR-15 on the outside of the chassis and uderside of the body panels. It looks the business and lasts really well. The only possible downside with it is it takes a while to come off your skin.
  8. Ralph, cheers mate I've been struggling with MicroCat and EPC for the last 2 weeks trying to understand what I needed.
  9. I'm looking to fit 3 individual high backs. I have the frames, but the brackets were never fitted as this is an SVO build.
  10. Hi, ok insurance finally paid out and I've bought a td5 s/w commercial. Its never had the 2nd row seats fitted and I want to rectify this. I have the seat frames but it appears that I need some brackets to fit the frames, however Microcat and EPC don't seem to say what I want. I may be being a bit blind here so if anyone can help I'll be easily pleased. Cheers Paul
  11. I did this myself by cutting the box out and with a bit of jiggling, welded the remaining pipes do that it came out in that exact location. Takes less than a couple of hours to do, and its not too loud for MOT. Unfortunately I never took any fotos's
  12. WD-40 work well as a plastic shiner, just spray on and ignore it
  13. Just been called by the Police. Its been found stripped and burnt in Sheffield. Little anchors. Oh bum, possible rebuild time cometh
  14. oh reg is H229SWW Its get quite a lot of kit on, but I'm unsure about listing individual items. I know I'm probably p***ing in the wind, but you never know.
  15. Hi, At 04:26 this morning a pair of little scrotes stole the 90 off my drive. Please let me know if you come across any prts winches/winch bumpers/cranked trailing arms tree sliders etc, etc, etc at silly prices or a dark blue landerover with X-eng stickers on the doors ldriving around et me know. Cheers Paul
  16. OK, update time. This alternator does fit and works absolutely fine, but does require slight modifications to fit a 200tdi. The lower brackets need widening by around 8mm total, and the upper rear bracket needs to be removed, small price to pay as far as I'm concerned.
  17. also add to the last post Ashcroft, X-Eng, and LLAMA. Excellent service from them all, and thats with or without any discounts being applied. Customer service is lookinafter who is giving you your crust, without any question. The stated 3 definitely do that. Going out on a limb I would def add Paddocks. Sent me an item without paying the postage, when I phoned up got an instant positive credit on my card. Thats what I call customer service.
  18. Western thanks mate, I had a feeling it was. Cheers Paul
  19. Frost.co.uk do a tank lining paint. Basically you pour it in and swill it around an let it set. It can apparently also resore a leaking tank. Here's the URL http://www.frost.co.uk/productList.asp?cat...;frostCat=Tanks sorry but rubbish at hyperlinks oh it works
  20. Hi does anyone know if this will fit a 200tdi. Its listed as a 100 amp alt for rover cars. Cheers Paul
  21. 90 has done around 4000 miles this year. Insurance ~150 Tax 185 Just need to get the imissions sorted and the footwell welded and it'll be doing plenty more. Never had a Landrover yet thats not failed an MOT when its due in winter time, ironic init
  22. It should just be a case of getting the brackets for the later rover disk brake axle and the correct bolts. There's loads of posts relating to doing this on here. If you do go down the axle swp route I would recomend blagging the use of a 4 post lift as I did. It feels a lot better being stood up when you do it this way.
  23. Just bear in mind that if you use the RR axle, you will need some drive flanges to fit the hub bolt pitch, and the correct imperial bolts. There's a post by me somewhere on here with the bolt details.
  24. I had that exact problem. I replaced both the upper and lower steering joint and the drop arm ball joint and now don't have the problem. It also turned out that the original joints had been fitted to the shaft incorrectly.
  25. Welcome m8. As already said take a small hammer to 'tap' the chassis all over when you go to look at one. The triangle side windows can be got from www.mudstuff.co.uk Contact Roadsure for insurance. My 90 is heavily modified now in my opinion, and only costs 153 pa fully comp, and they dont do a no claims, its an off road policy, which makes a difference. there's a lot of knowledge here, and many of us have had landrovers from bieng in our teens ourselves (and I'm in my forties now). Once the bug bits thats it, welcome to the experience of your life
