  1. Hughies Hi-cap..... It's been sold now anyways... To make way for the next "project" I believe.....!
  2. click my controls at the top then on the bottom left under options it says change password
  3. Thought they weren't that obvious so just incase you didn't notice the clickys on my first 2 posts on this thread the underlined bitys will give a little more insight into the SUMB... Maybe
  4. They were, you just swap the portal boxes from front to rear axle and they're in the right place and get a second rear diff to give you two lockers....
  5. Those axles look interesting , but no good on a LR I guess , Why not Hmmmm ????
  6. Mormon simca unique boquet = SUMB French version of a Unimog used alot as gun buses with only a rear locker.... check out RR Axles like these.... Not read TOR but i'll get it for a look....
  7. I would expect most steel wheel manufacturers would be able to help out...? If your looking for a standard rim you may strugle with anything over 7"... Or keep an eye out at the jap 6 stud 4x4's untill you figure out what would suit you best... I think everything like that I had has been chucked or sold...
  8. Can't think of any others but if you were that bothered I'm sure a stanley knife would remove the raised red areas..?
  9. How wide do the rims need to be...? Ones from an early datsun/nissan partol would do but they're not very wide...? Isuzu, Nissan, Toyota would be the same...
  10. Yes plenty of fuel into the cylinders, spinning/turning spot on, leads are in the right place, dizzy hasn't been moved..... Gona give FFs advice a shot and see how I get on...
  11. Not really a fan of V8s but I have one in my 100", everyone needs one right....? Anyway it was dyeing out under load a month or two ago until it died. Diagnosis: fuel pump knacked... Was hardly getting any fuel up just little drips and drabs blew out the lines still hardly anything. Took pipe off at pump still not enough. Tank was also full of carp so flushed the tank, blew out all the lines, fitted a new pump and two new filters.... Now I am getting plenty of fuel. Because it's been sitting a while now I checked and cleaned all the plugs.. I can not get it to fire... Plenty of fuel and good spark... There must be a wire some where sending the wrong signal? Tried everything I can think of inc different airflow meter, different ecu, relays, fuses, cleaned connections..... I'm lost now, any help greatly appreciated.......!!! Thanks, Daniel
  12. Yes they come with high beam, I get em at my local truck dealer, but most farm services etc will stock Britax stuff and be able to order them... If ya need bigger bulbs 100W or 130W Homebase is your best bet for muchos cheapness....
  13. I think if you have a dig around on here there are people wanting to make the change the other way around.... I would suggest getting in touch with them and doing a swap/ exchanging parts.....
  14. Britax, come in a range of sizes 6" to 9" clear lenses black backs come with side lights.... About £25 a lamp, Spares are easy to get.....???
  15. I think I'd be tempted to go for the stiffer springs however what about fitting spring spacers? You know the rubber towing ones...? They're cheap and would do what your after...? Even maybe just worth a try at £10 Heard some bad reviews but over the last few years I've had them on 2 vehicles for quite a while no problems...?
  16. I like the 8" britax lights They're around £25 each come part wired and have rubber sealing in the joints.... Much and such the same as Hellas but cheaper...... Instead of getting 100W or 130W bulbs from your local motor factor or halfords etc go to Home Base and get the same things at 10% of the price..... about £1.50 - £2 for a pack of two....! The 4 on the top are Britax.... As are these two....
  17. There's some good britax lights about.... I'd also try CDS truck accessories and have them send you a catalogue....
  18. Another vote for chucking them, got 16 or so here I'm trying to find a use for... Any ideas?
  19. The left hand side is 109 and the right 110.....
  20. No, just easy access and that's it... Unless you find the right shaped stone or rock to bend it or a 'stick' goes between it and the spring....
  21. The exterior shock should be at the front you can run a single shock in either place, unless you are racing at speed and taking big hits I would advise against use of twin shocks.... I'd re-check the shocks after 20 miles or so just had a friend trash hie turret rings not checking them...
  22. This stack works pretty well and looks good too....??? Or you could have it coming out the seatbox and mounts to your cage...? 2.5" diameter
  23. Right..... I am a young driver and have been through all this nonsense OK first don't bother with the Clio his Insurance is always going to be sky high.... What he needs is a series with an economical engine..... If the clio is a must then try someone like norwich union who do a 9 month policy building up no claims quicker and add one of 'your' friends as a named driver on his policy, I have found having an older 'more experienced' driver cuts the price in half....!!! It seems cheaper doing it this way rather than a parent for some reason...? No ideas why...? But best bet would be a tax exempt series ... Free tax..... Peanuts to insure I'd guess for his 1st year it will be between £300 and £600 2nd year less than £200 and 3rd year just under £100..... I gave this advice to the son of a woman whos landrover I was doing work on, he put the Izuzu engine in and has greatly thanked me for this advice as he is paying less than 1/4 what most of his friends are can muck around off road carry 7 passengers etc and with the engine change he is getting 35+ miles to the gallon...!! Hope this helps.... Daniel
  24. I'd give Fiat Yellow from Halfords a try and see how far that is from what your looking for...? That was the colour I used on my Chevette........???? Dan
