  1. flux have been good to me being the only insurers who would touch me two years ago and i thought the renewal was good at 1/2 what the previous year was, until i rang them on the off chance and moaned, 1 st year £800 renewal. £400 ended up paying £250... go figure.
  2. it wasnt a cheap one. ive tried a cheap one as it was far worse.
  3. ive got one of those fm transmitters. theyre carp... (but good enough for my satnav which is all i use it for....
  4. depends. they just told me when i needed one for a mates car.... you will probably need to go in person with the v5 though.
  5. the electrics got wet and it misfired for a bit til it dried out. not surprising and nothing to worry about.
  6. it' burn out. and the galv people wouldnt like it
  7. when i changed the oil in my discoverys gearbox a few days after buying it the swarf was so bad i expected the gearbox to start failing within a few weeks..... it didnt.. .. it took 6 months before 2nd gear syncro let go completely and meant i had to double declutch every time i wanted 2nd....
  8. putting a 14" tube in a 16" wheel will have been the ONLY reason that it failed. ive run tubes inside insa turbo dakars on disco alloys for over a year of both hard offroad and long distance on road ( once 200 miles with a p38 on a trailer behind) with no issues.
  9. steve andrews tyres round my way will repair sidewalls they have the gear to do this but its not common for tyre centres to have the kit.
  10. could be a sticking governor... never had that issue myself so dont know if it fits your symptoms but can be caused by changing the oil...
  11. so asking for payment by bacs or card payment or cheque is a good idea ? like i said too much doesnt add up, it takes a hour or so to copy a load of images off other websites and set up a shop and a few hours more to add a few lines of text. its the non existence of the company in companies house that would stop me from buying from them.
  12. actually that doesnt bother me theres quite often industrial units for rent in rail yards.
  13. there are 4 things about that company that worry me. 1, the pictures, something just doesnt add up. 2, and the biggie, its a .co.uk website but companies house has no record of J.J. Belmonté or 4wheelin or 4x4wheelin in there database. 3, the website and any reference to it seems to have not existed until December 16, 2015. 4, there is not one review or mention of anyone's dealings with them on facebook, google or any review website. steer clear.
  14. no but i have seen a deteriorated belt slip a few teeth and jam the piston into the valves after a starting attempt with a hydro locked engine...
  15. i had that happen once, a big washer had managed to get into the inlet hose and got sucked against the impeller. didnt end well for the turbo...
  16. you dont have to go apple... plenty of good windows tablets out there,,,,
  17. for my old car i found out to my astonishment that brake pads and disks where a LOT cheaper from the main dealer for genuine parts than i could get aftermarket from a motor-factors or ebay. and having fitted aftermarket brake pads to a car before and subsequently lost all feel and bite, i will only ever fit genuine pads..... so a win-win also gearbox oil (a special oil for a 'speshal' gearbox.. Renault pk6...) was 50% cheaper from the main dealer but i had to supply my own container.
