  1. +1 and if you dont like it you can always replace them. rear springs are easy to change. remove bump stop, use scissor jack to jack between chassis and axle wait for spring to fall out, replace spring, lower jack.
  2. sue copart for removing the vehicle without her permission. small claims courts love this sort of thing. she'll get all her money back and then some.
  3. got a bag of bearings and seals somewhere suppose ill have to turf em out and take a look....
  4. charge him for a professional respray of the cross member, a professionally fitted tow socket, new tow ball and new door. you might as well get it back to the best condition you can after his balls up....
  5. hi guys, whats the most likely cause of this leak? its not the drive flange seal but im not too familiar with the setup of the rear axle 24 spline discovery axle. its leaking a lot, it left a fair puddle when parked for a hour. thats what it looked like 30 secs after cleaning it up so i could turn it round without contaminating the brakes.
  6. if its the usual motor type this about covers it.
  7. although probably not very waterproof they should suit my rear rad mount nicely(sits high so unlikely to get dunked). many thanks for the heads up im gonna give them a go.
  8. i did similar not long ago. welding a metal box to put my fuel tank in, registered my forearms where warmish but didnt have a second thought. had fairly painful burns all the way from wrists to bottom of t-shirt area for a week. peeled off nicely though! not recommended makes getting dressed of a morning rather uncomfortable.

  13. according to my local dealer you can discharge them 100% and not damage them.
  14. +1 the traction control on my van means i go though a set of pads in less than 6000 miles! but the original ones lasted 25000 so having said that, go genuine
  15. ive got a autocom its dealer level and supports just about any vehicle whether they're obd compliant or not. case in point i use it on a 2002 iveco cargo. (infact thats what it was bought for) definitely an early version of obd and no generic reader would read it. the autocom will read it fine and will even let me mess with the injection ecu to turn up the fuelling if i want to,,, pretty pointless though as its limited to 56......
  16. what usually goes wrong to stop them working? should there be grease in there?
  17. hi guys i have a couple of cta12000 winches on my tray back. they've been working fine until the last trip out when i found that the winch will not hold when the trigger is released, it just slowly spools out. my question is how does the brake work on these? i've stripped and cleaned and regreased the whole winch but i didn't take the motor apart because i dont have the right size torx bit for the retaining nuts. is the brake in the motor or elsewhere?
  18. could anyone with a td4 freelander (01-05) measure their fan cowl for me? there's one on ebay and it looks about right but the guy isnt interested in measuring it for me so i want to know if it will come close to fitting a p38 v8 radiator..... on that note (and this IS a long shot) as anyone got access to a Jaguar XJ6 / XJ8 1994-2002 to check the same? thanks guys. the trayback is getting very close.. just a few things left to do.....
  19. on and £160 for 2 new batteries and that should be all the bits i need to finish it. that's a grand spent on it in a month..... feck! on and the deadline is sunday.... i have a competition!
