  1. I want/need to put a winch isolator switch on the bumper. Which switch would people recommend?
  2. Well that was fun weekend as usual. Hope you all had fun on the night section, we went up to a high point and spent a while watching the headlights appearing and disappearing while listening to 8274s screaming... very entertaining! The Sunday was good, the light afternoon rain made everything that little bit more entertaining.. See some of you at the end of the month at the EuroChallenge! Looking forward to that...
  3. I'm sure he'll be along to tell you, but they were having bad fuel pump problems on the night stage so it may have been the recurrance of that on Sunday.
  4. Not really....! And I'm not even competing.....! Bloody work.....
  5. That suzuki on portals is nuts!! Well done Saley and Alan...!
  6. I've run them on my jimny for about a year, 205's, never had any complaints. They are good on the road, not too noisy, and pretty good off road! nice aggressive sidewall too. I recommend.
  7. I'm loking forward to spending my holiday living in a quarry for a week. It's going to be good! B)
  8. cheers guys. I'll give it a go tonight.
  9. B) So was it just a case of it drying out somewhere?!? Are you going to investigate further?
  10. Cheers for that Andy, that's what I was after. Does the entire housing on that side of the winch rotate then?? And I presume you only move it out enough to rotate it, like a couple of mill max.
  11. Hi there! I'm in the process of fitting an EP9 to the front of the Jimny. The bumper I've got requires it to be fitted feet forward, so I need to rotate the freespool lever round so i can access it. Has anyone had to do this before or got any tips on how best to do this? I've read in a couple of places that if things move apart a few too many mil then things can go wrong quite quicky. I was planning on standing it up on its end, so's gravity is on my side, and lifting it the bare minimum to move it through 90 degrees. I just want to make sure there isn't an easier way before I do it, or that I'm being paranoid for no reason... All advice greatly received!
  12. Ha I like the fact that all the other marshals are running around like crazy while I'm calmly eating a packet of crisps. Nice vid though!
  13. I'm from Hampshire I'll have you know. Great day, apart from the miserable start. But at least it gave you all something to think about! Edit: Does anyone know what happened to the Bolts? I assume they must have broken something?
  14. You're ready?? Bloody hell... As far as I know there's no bbq on this time, expect Neil will confirm shortly. A few good(ish) takeaways in the town though. Well, I say good, no one died last time... Looking forward to it, not gonna bring the Jimny though, can't face that drive in it again! Hopefully will get home in under 13 hours this time.
  15. I'm sure Neil will be along in a bit, but I'm pretty sure non-roadgoing vehicles, ie no tax/mot, are catered for in the AWDC Trophy series.
  16. Saw one of the Spiders, or a copy, I can't remember which, at EuroTrial 06 in Finland last year I think. Have some pics: Plus my two of my favourite cars ever:
  17. Try Rhino Rays? He tends to have a lot of suzuki parts kicking around, and he's not too far. Probably more second hand than new stuff though. As for something Craddock like, I've no idea...
  18. 8274 won't fit the bumper... Plus after having seen one being used for recovering a vehicle along with an Ep9, the Ep9 is much more controllable. No where near as much overun. I'm not going to be doing anything too extreme so don't really need a competition speed winch..
  19. Cheers for the response guys. To be honest, I'm probably going to go for an Ep, just wondered if anything else was around... As for Jimnys, there's quite a few getting modded at the mo. I've seen quite a few that have been truck cabbed, looks mint, and I know Rob at Rubber Suzuki has/had one on Toy axles with lockers, simexs, 8274's etc. They are very capable off road, only slightl lacking in gearing and a bit down on power...
  20. I know its not a landie... Need to get a winch for the front of my jimny with the main use being recovery work and possible clubmans level challenge stuff. It needs to be one with a moveable solenoid box, not a 'bridge-over' style one. I'm currently leaning towards a superwinch ep9, but not towards the price of one... If anyone has any suggestions of something similar but maybe cheaper it'd be apprieciated. I'll probably be fitting plasma, if that makes a difference. Cheers! Have a piccie:
  21. I make/package/sell alcoholic drinks for a living.
