  1. Thought you were going to show one of these.
  2. This is what you want. They are robust and fold up into a small parcel. http://www.tradekey.com/selloffer_view/id/4601994.htm Not necessarily from this source. I have seen them in several outlets and online.
  3. Most parts are interchangeable with series III and other things. If you are not counting rivets then the options are much wider. Yes, the front swivels are an issue but the front diff is easily replaceable with a RR classic (done that on mine when I blew the last one). There are rebuilt front swivel units around.
  4. What he said ^ Got a Stage 1. There is a lot you can do to fix em up
  5. Mine is Thomas 8000lb that I converted to run with PTO. Pull trees all day
  6. Interesting. Never heard that one before. Must try it out.
  7. Yep, lower the tyre pressures and lengthen the amount of tread on the ground. Also as said, in mud thinner tyres with good (aggressive) tread are often better but on sand, wider tyres with less tread float.
  8. So, it's all been done before. Nothing new to see here.
  9. Meh. The doors have been done before ( ).The Eeevock is pretty ugly but I suppose it looks appropriate in a mall car park or hanging off a footballer's wife's arm. Not surprising JLR are doing the same with the Disco. I'll never be buying one but then I'm not in the market segment they are targeting. It is probably more interesting that the launch is in New York (as in the US of A). They are distancing themselves from blighty. That heads up thing is a nifty gimmick. Fun until some plonker forgets that there is actually a car about to hit those rocks the are driving into/through.
  10. Worn cam, plugs need replacing, HT cable spark leakage, rings need replacing,...
  11. Canvas will stretch if given constant and steady pressure from the eyelets. The mistake may have been in not having it fitted correctly in the first place? I find my Ā¾ tilt stretches every time I go for a longish drive, from the wind pushing it down from above. Then when it rains it shrinks back into the shape.
  12. Tend to agree. It is just unfortunate that most vehicles produced there are not allowed to be imported here.
  13. Another in a fine tradition. Morris Oxford, Royal Enfield, ...
  14. Last I heard, they had scrapped plans for that model and returned to drawing board.
  15. That's a nice idea. These may be easier to apply and removeā€¦ http://www.securityfastenersandfixings.co.uk
  16. Your salvation may be found here: https://www.facebook.com/rugged.guide
  17. The 90/100 is sufficiently similar as a replacement part for one that is obsoleted. Moving the brake mechanism to a new position and adding new strengthening to the base for something that is a fairly important mechanical bit requires certification. For example, if I were to fit the X-Eng disc hand brake, I would have to have it certified and that's about an additional $400. However, that is engineered and comes premade so it's pretty straight forward. In this case, I'd probably have to provide drawings and specs before doing the work. The free and easy way mods are undertaken in blighty is one of the reasons it is so hard to get UK landies with mods here and then run them legally on the road.
  18. Major change. Would have to be certified (read, mucho money for checking and certifying).
  19. I'll see how long this one lasts and keep an eye out for a cheap (free) newer version to tinker with.
  20. Comes off at a different angle and is a different shape. That was the first thought I had I also looked very carefully at eliminating the problem by replacing with the 90/110 brake handle but the bracket is a lot larger. I suppose it could be done but I'd need a custom cable and new holes and backing plates in the seat box (or maybe try to make the 90/110 backing plate fit. Lot of work really, for little gain. :/
  21. I like the idea of drilling and filling
