  1. i thought he was being green friendly. not very friendly towards the green oval.
  2. she want to mince around the shops with a tribe of desert people?
  3. i think the term you are looking is "special"
  4. ooh yeah i will come... oh wait a sec decent sized wheels and winch needed.. ah more importantly i have been offered a husky style winch although it has a 6 tonne rating removed from a Great Western Energy landy for £300, is that a good price? or is it just impractical winch for a novice
  5. the most important thinking is to make sure that when you set up the network with the router that you have it WEP enabled as if you dont have this your network is open to everybody. ideally a seperate firewall should be used with ISP recognition as people with knowledge can quite readily get around WEP using programs like megaproxy.
  6. is it easier to weld with an arc welder or mig welder? as i always hear about mig welding but not so much arc welding
  7. all i have been given is feeble excuses about how they just washed their cars. i would come again but i think some larger tyres are called for so sadly i think that involves saving money
  8. i made quite a few temporary stops in the mud, obviously to enjoy the views though
  9. not yet, not sure if i should go for amazon style remoulds or slighly more expensive colways. is it relatively easy to fit tyres oneself or less hassle and pay a tyre fitter?
  10. is it the same route/site as the first one?
  11. will, i would definitely stick with the TD. As when insurance hears that its a non originial engine their going to rob you something rotten. Plus whats the point in going fast when you can have it out with the lorries in the left hand lane
  12. thanks for the help, i greased the adjuster now and it seems to move much more easily, although it doesnt move far e.g when the handbrake is on you can see the hole in the bottom of the adjuster and when it is released it covers the hole in the adjuster but not much further. should it move all the way to the end of the housing?
  13. is normal grease okay to use on the adjuster?
  14. i would say its the cable as it seems very slack when trying to release the handbrake.
  15. My handbrake has decided to starting sticking on. When i park and put it on all is well but when i release the brake the the lever has no real feel to it ands flops down. I have been for the last few days using a lump hammer and hitting the drum to release it enough to move again. When i took the drum off all looked fine with good life in the shoes still and when i put the drum back on it would brake and then release happily, but as soon as the rear prop was fitted it went back to its old ways. I have tried loostening the adjuster nut so now the car wont hold on the brake but yet it still rubs. would it be the shoe expander on one side is a gonner?
  16. is it possible to add a relay to a 2.5turbo so that the glow plug light would turn off after the recommended time? as in winter i have to hold the key for 25-30 seconds to be able to start and im not sure whether i am doing more damage than good.
  17. if it helps any i had a problem like what you described and it turned out to be that the cv joint was ceizing abit and that there was hardly any oil in there, but after some nice new swivel grease and a drive round the jumping and steering resistance was gone.
  18. Its abit off the point but are propshafts for 90`s interchangealbe? eg i have a 90 but could i fit a rear propshaft of say a 300Tdi or Td5?
  19. It was a great days offroading easily aces any play days, really opens ur eyes as to what a land rover can do. All i need now is some 255/85s and or a challenge truck for peanuts.
  20. for there to be any effect if you changed the intercooler wouldnt you at least need to change the boost pressure from the turbo as the air flow rate will be different? So would just fitting a larger intercooler possibly limit performance as even though the air is cooler and denser it wont be flowing at the desired pressure.
  21. yeah think i will go with that. also bought jate rings but then realised that steering guard is in the way. i should really think things through before bidding on eblag.
  22. I ordered a D ring which came today, so as to have a recovery point on the front of the vehicle. Now it has arrived i have just realised that the second set of bolt holes are so that it attachs to the bumper. My query is that the bumper is very thin beeing one of the bowler wildcat style copies on ebay (1.6 - 2mm thick). Obviously the rear holes have the actual bumper bolts go through it but the front holes need to bolt into a nice flimsy bumper. Should i try putting abit of 3mm plate inside the bumper for the bolts to tighten against or is that a non starter? Basically will i be able to be pulled out of whatever mess i get myself into without distorting the bumper? Cheers Ben
  23. I you fit an intercooler like an allard one that has been designed for the 2.5turbo will just adjusting the boost pressure of the turbo give any performance increase or not as the fueling hasnt been adjusted accordingly? How does one go about adjusting the fuel pump?
  24. Evening all Are the two different dates based at the same place? Is it possible to come along even though i dont have a winch? Cheers Ben
  25. probably doesnt apply to you but from what i understand from my BT broadband saga is that if between you and the exchange there is any aluminium there is no chance of getting it for technical reasons as the aluminium cant take the increased line speed.
