  1. PCL (top) and non-PCL non-standard thread (bottom) As the non-standard connectors are only on low air demand tools such as the tyre inflator, I just stuck a PCL on the end of the horrible cheap and nasty curly hose and use that as an adapter.
  2. I'd be worried with the spine compression issues of having the shoulder mount so low. You want the mount to be higher than your shoulder, for the same reason harness straps have defined positions and angles for competition use.
  3. I agree, it's probably a loading issue, or just a faulty relay. Do all the lights flash when the hazards are on? this post explains how the hazard switch works with the indicators.
  4. you'll need some exhaust paste, i expect. Probably a bit of the silencer material has come adrift.
  5. You should be able to get it serviced at any garage, as long as they use genuine parts. for landrover to deny you the warranty over another garage doing the service would be illegal.
  6. They certainly look it I've lived in sheffield for 4 years and never been to the main dealer - first time for everything i guess. Thanks for your help.

  8. Is that just the side section then? Microcat has MXC5978 and MXC5979 as 'capping assembly' and shows a single piece including the short section on the rear. MWC4686 and MWC4687 are just listed as 'capping' No mention of either being galvanised, or an option for it either.
  9. Ok, thanks. Google isn't showing anything for that part number, so it looks like i'll have to ring a main stealer!
  10. They're the ones!! Do you have the part number for the other side? Cheers Luke
  11. Galvanised? Do you have a part number? Microcat doesn't over any details on galvanised or not. Has anyone got a brand new set galvanised? I'd imagine warping/bending issues?
  12. Can you get galvanised tub cappings for a 90? Is the best/most viable method to cut some 109" cappings down? Has anyone got any other ideas?
  13. The VIN is on the panel riveted to the brake booster, or at least should be.
  14. Yes I was looking for one with the post terminals, rather than the blades. There's a listing for just the correct type of rectifier here The regulators are also listed seperately.
  15. Gromit's article is much more indepth than mine - I just had a look on ebay and couldn't find any kits listed at the moment.
  16. You won't find him, well you'll probably struggle to! FWIW, they're made in York, built like brick sh!t houses and have copper transformers. The wire feed motor is the size of a coke can - unlike most cheap chinese welders. It's worth noting that Mig-tig-Arc sell the same welder under their own 'MTA' brand. Having bought a Portamig off Steve, and used him for mail order consumables, I'll stick with him, customer care like most people have forgotten about. I'm nothing but a happy customer.
  17. Yes the difference between a disco/200tdi/300tdi A127 alternator can be sorted by rotating the front of the alternator casing by 120 degrees. glad its sorted
  18. I've got a Portamig 211, which has a range of 20 - 215 A, You'll find most welders that have a higher output will start at the lowest end at 30-35A, which is pushing it for anything thin. I've welded RR door frames, which IIRC are 1mm, with 0.6mm wire. I've also been welding 1.50mm aluminium sheet with 1mm wire. The 235 extends the maximum to 235A whilst maintaining 20A minimum The 255 has 25A as it's minimum setting. All three welders have 12 voltage settings - which is miles better than the 6 many welders have.
  19. A bit of elbow grease and a tin of brake cleaner will get you a long way. I find a new stanley blade a good way of getting gasket remnants off, especially if it's in one of those scraper handles.
  20. If you want it to be 100% built in, an ITX PC is a neat solution. more info on my installation here
  21. I've got a cheap blow gun, it's got a non-PCL fitting, and the thread is different, I found out when i tried to swap it over to a PCL.
  22. ask on www.mig-welding.co.uk, there's a few members around that area i think. Sounds like a few minutes with a grinder and a tig should have it sorted?
