  1. Hi, anyone heard of this company. Link I am after a set of rock/tree sliders and this company seems to be offering a set at a reasonable price. Rocky
  2. Hi, when I replaced the head gasket on my 300 I had the head skimmed and used Landrover gaskets and never had anymore problems. I certainly wouldn't run it as it is. Rocky
  3. If anyone is interested I use Halfords silicone rubber lubricant and never have a problem, where I live we have had a few nights below -20! I use white lithium grease and WD40 in the lock barrels. Regards, rocky
  4. Thanks for the replies. I'll have to see if it starts and runs in the morning. -13 now! Rocky
  5. I have a red ticket stuck in the middle of the steering wheel. I don't think the insurance company would look too kindly on me for incinerating it. Still I wouldn't have to worry about it freezing!! rocky
  6. It's not the block so much as the injector pipes and rail. When we had -20 a couple of weeks ago I lifted the bonnet to find everything sparkling and white with frost, even inside the vehicle was white. I had to put a fan heater on the top of the engine to get it to run. Since then I have been using an anti-waxing additive which seems to be working (I'll find out in the morning!) I just want to keep the frost off the pipes and rail without having to keep putting a fleece over the engine overnight. Rocky
  7. Hi, Anyone know where I can buy an underbonnet liner for my puma 90? It's not for noise reduction but to keep the frost off the engine. It's going to be below -20 overnight here, it is already -11!! Regards, rocky
  8. there are pictures of the safari at www.safarisnorkel.com. Regards, rocky
  9. Have you had a look at the Famous Four one? rocky
  10. Hi, as I mentioned in an earlier post, when I asked the main agents if I could use some parrafin or petrol to stop the diesel waxing with the puma engine, they said that it wasn't advisable. I used parrafin at 4ltrs per tankful in my old 300tdi and I never had any more problems. rocky
  11. Hi, a couple of weeks ago I had problems with my 90's diesel freezing. After a bit of searching I came across "stanadyne performance formula" diesel additive which is supposed to help prevent diesel gelling and waxing. I bought a 235 ml bottle to try, which treats 120 litres. It can be bought online at www.dieselpartsdirect.co.uk, although I managed to get mine at my local LR agents. It is a lot cheaper on the net. Hope this maybe some use. Regards, rocky
  12. Hi, sticking thermostat, partial blockage of radiator? rocky
  13. Thanks western, I have that but it gives the wiring in a tabulated form rather than the older type which showed the cables going to different parts of the vehicle. I was looking for diagrams similar to the ones in the back of Haynes Manual, which are easier for the layman to follow. Regards, rocky
  14. Hi, Does anyone out there know where I can get hold of a wiring diagram for my 90 tdci,'07 plate. Regards, rocky
  15. Hi, I use 3-in-1 white lithium grease for the locks and halfords silicone lubricant for the rubber door seals. The temperature here has been down to -20 and have had no problems so far. WD40 is good for the locks as well. regards, rocky
  16. Hi, whilst on the subject of repairing an alternator, is it possible to buy new brushes, and where from. regards, rocky
  17. The only time i use tesco is when i get the 5p off, otherwise it is asda, which gives me about 1.25mpg more on average. rocky
  18. When the diesel my 300tdi froze, lost power but managed to get home by running on tickover in low range. The pump was really noisy, so bad that I thought it was shot. Changed the fuel filter and put the vehicle in a warm garage till it thawed out. Never had another problem. rocky
  19. Thanks mate, would it be wise to change both rear rather than just one? rocky
  20. Hi, how easy is it to fit new rear shocks on a 90. The outer sleeve on one has unattatched itself and slid down the shocker leaving the plunger exposed. Regards, rocky.
  21. Hi, when mine did that it was the headgasket, blown between no. 3 and 4 pot. Have you checked to see if there are any bubbles in the expansion chamber when the engine is running? I hope its's just a leak somewhere. regards, rocky
  22. Hi, forgot to add that is with Tesco.
