  1. Looks good - nice job ! We have 2 chassis waiting here for the travel bans to be lifted so we can get them galvanized and start a rebuild...
  2. I'll see what I can put together with some decent pictures...
  3. Hmm...... "...But we have this bloke who specializes in auto boxes and especially for dragracing purposes..." Perhaps these quys can make for a "L" position in the selector for more fun at the roundabouts, wet corners 😁
  4. You did AA cover with them when you bought them new in Holland....... At least those gearboxes are not too big & heavy.
  5. Yes, I have to ask : 1 - non native English speaker 2 - I def. do not want to bore people 3 - very good people have done seriously good treads on rebuilds
  6. ...but now he's back on the road ! and the 200 Tdi makes a lot of difference ! Do we want a build post ?
  7. Apart from the obvious, yes, the casing flange bolt pattern different. Many Series have been given different axles and some are good, some... A former friend ran a 109 on Nissan Patrol axles (SOA) with discs and factory lockers. And some weird Mazda engine and autobox. Very nice....
  8. Ehm..... "... including the rear hubs that I need to replace.." Why do you need to replace the hubs ? The Zeus kit is a straight bolt on job - we did not replace the hubs.. Or did I miss something ? The Zeus kit is, as far as I know, not for vented discs but spacers for the caliper could be made if you want. The Zeus kit does not, as stated, work with the Series rims - something for us not a problem as they all runs on Disco I steel ones anyway. Will be very interest to see a post on the conversion with the Heystee kit !
  9. Very, very nice ! You could do this for a living....
  10. Me, too, have front & rear the Zeus kit and it does its job very well. Straight bolt on conversion. And yes, I run spacers...
  11. @ Mike : could you do some blanking plates for the 200 & 300 Tdi vacumpumps and fuelliftpumps for when I go electric ?
  12. Nice !! Shame to wreck it in banger racing.....
  13. ...but sit down when you see the price as everything "Defender" seems to be made of gold these days....
  14. Who needs grass ????? We're getting a building permit for a new ABRI (30 x 6,5 mtrs.) and the Mrs. & me disagree on the floor : I want concrete..... 😄 I mean, the Horses have 3 Hectare !!
  15. TTBOMK you can cut the cable - but not the whip..
  16. Perhaps I should not post this : Basically the view from my office.... Lockdown here is for us not that hard. Mods : feel free to remove if it offends
  17. Here in France for us, we do very much our normal thing, apart from the travelling and the teaching. Freight trains are running more than ever and as we work in 42 countries on 3 continents, we're kept busy. We have our offices, workshop, (a lot of) horses, dogs, etc. here on our own 3 Ha., we can order the shopping online and collect once a week. Living in the Allier - out in the country.... - things are very much normal, except for visiting friends.. It must be Hell living with a family on the 19th floor trying to keep them from ......... eachother
  18. Thank you for the pictures - that is a very nice build ! Does not look like a "home build" at all. Interesting..
  19. "..I built myself a press from C beam,.." any pics please ?
