Must be a pretty rare thing. I'm forever looking at weird and wonderful cars, but not seen one of these come up for sale before.
Just thought it was interesting, that's all!
I can picture it already... Passenger floor removed, with Mike upside down in the seat, head through the floor, having a good nose at what's going on underneath, cruising round baisingstoke.
"Well, officer, er, you see, we were..."
A friend of mine bought a 110 from the guy at Alpine. We came to the conclusion he didn't have any spanners, because none of the bolts were more than finger tight. Scariest of all being a track rod end that was so loose it was clonking about in the hole.
As Mav says, it's a switched earth. This is because the door switches basically are a short to the bulkhead, through their mounting screw.
As it's not working on either the local or door switches, I'd be looking for a dodgy connection in the wiring that goes up to the light.
I'm always on the hunt for free building materials. A good source is when people are having a re-roof / extension and all the often quite decent old timber gets ripped off and dumped in the garden then advertised as 'fire wood'. I've rescued and built all sorts out of it over the years.
If you think this one was expensive you should see what the "Land Rover Classic" badges that were fitted to the tailgates of the last Range Rover Classics go for.
