  1. When I got the disco there was a small puddle of blueish water underneath which seemed to be eminating from the pipe on the bottom of the waterpump. On further investigaion, it would seem that the leak is actually coming from somewhere round the waterpump gasket. My question is; is this just a case for a new gasket, or would it be worth my while putting a new water pump on while I am at it? I have gathered that they are prone to going and casuing overheating problems (which I really dont want ) Advice gratefully recieved. Thanks Mark [i am asking this specific to my 1991 Disco, but I guess it applies to any 200 TDI - Mods feel free to move this to the disco section if you feel it would be better there]
  2. Maybe a nice Series 1 body, just for the contrast!
  3. I have just looked through all the paperwork that came with the ACR Kit, and it dosn't actually mention timing. The kit was fitted when I bought the lightweight, and it is running on Gas, so the timing should be a slightly advanced for that so it would be difficult to comapre... Sorry, not really any help. Roland used to post on the old forum, it might be worth a post on there to see if he still looks in? Cheers Mark
  4. Wouldn't you actually have to fit the x-brake then? rather than leave it in it's box Mark
  5. Hello chaps, I am after some options for front and rear bumpers for my 200 TDI Disco. I have seen the scrapiron racing ones, and they look very nice. I have also seen the ones that paddocks sell, I just wondered what people are actually using. I don't mind about Winch bumpers. I have no plans to fit a winch in the enar future, but these tings change! So, as I said what are people using? Cheers Mark

  7. Stupid question, but do jate rings fit a Disco 1 chassis? ta Mark
  8. Just a quick note on high miler TD4s - afaik you can't rebore them. Dad had to have a new engine fitted to his X-plate TD4 at around 160k (regularly maintained, mostly motoway miles). Mark
  9. I have several favorites: "You can sleep in your car, but you can't race your house" "Assumption is the mother of all F ups" and describing someone as having "dellusions of adequacy" always amuses... I am sure there are more though.... Mark
  10. I am a big fan of MSS's store drawer but it's not cheap! What sort of thing do you want to store? Mark
  11. Booked. For both myself and little brother (Orange) and associated passengers. before anyone asks, I am pretty sure we don't count as a clique.... Looking forward to it already... Mark
  12. D3's always remind me of Postman Pat's Van.... Mark
  13. Mmmm, look at all that room, and not a coil spring in sight...
  14. Trev, I know where you can find a lightweight.... [hint: look in sig...]
  15. You can take a rangie to water... but it dosn't actually need any help drinking!
  16. Chris, I would definatly be interested. Also gives me a target to get the disco sorted! Dates - I have nothing fixed for feb, but the sooner we can fix it the better! Cheers Mark
  17. Jim, The filler spout/filter thing is indeed like a bayonet. It should be possible to pull out and turn through a couple of degrees to get it to lock in the out position. However, you should then be able to turn it a bit more, and pull it out completely. I'm not sure that is very clear, but if you pull, then turn, then pull it should come out... Mark
  18. Nah, that was an aston. DB7 I believe, as the bad guy had an xk8 The Z3 was in golden eye. There was a Z8 that got chopped in half in [insert the bond film with robert carlisle as the bad guy, and robbie coltrane in too] 'the world is not enough!' the 7-series was at the beginning of the same one as above... </anorak> Mark
  19. Ooh, I'd better pull my finger out and get something roadworthy then. The IIa is probably a better bet as it's much easier to work on! Mark
  20. Ahhhhh, were you feeling all out classed by a poor little leafer at slindon then? Leaf springs, half as many cylinders and some over enthusiastic numpty at the wheel (me) and I still got some punches on the winch challenge that you couldn't get to! sometimes small is beutifull! (so why am I selling it? ) Mark
  21. Having spoken to simonr at the weekend, a series version of the x-brake should be very close now.... Mark
  22. Thankfully, I havn't got any sunroofs in my disco, but I am pretty sure I have all the gutter issues! At the moment it is not a problem as there is not enough of the floor left to hold the water in.... Mark
  23. We had a go - although we didn't get far, since we didn't have any winches! I got two pnches in the lighweight, and Orange attmpted a couple in a std range rover on ATs but didn't get any. It was good watching some of the other guys on the punches, and to be fair we had a go as an experiment! For what it's worth, I would be far more likly to turn up to a play day if there was something else to do as well. I like winch challenges, but don't have a wich, so maybe a punch safari type thing would be good? Anyway, sorry we didn't return the tags to you paul, I have them here if you would like, I scored 2, Orange scored Nill, but not for lack of trying! Thanks for organising it! Mark
  24. No no no no no..... that would be far too obvious! And anyway, tell me you disagree! Mark
