I'll let you choose what colour to paint it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Ibex-5-Door-300-Rolling-Chassis-and-Body-Project-/232266721576

TSD
As Fridge pointed out earlier today, due to some recent vehicle movements, I now have a space in my garage exactly the right size Edited March 13, 2017 by TSD

But my go-to guy for painting is quite busy these days and I dont think I could get much done until it was painted. He's probably on a terrorist watch list and not allowed to buy paint anymore either And I'd have to sell a truck to make spannering room. Excuses? I got loads of them, they dont take up much space. (Damn, my 666th post! Could it be an omen?!) Edited March 13, 2017 by TSD
miketomcat
I'm pretty sure your "painting guy" owes you sufficient favours to drop what he has on to paint it for you. We already have a plan hatched to give you spannering room. Your d3 is getting old now.....I can go on....and on too. Mike
daveturnbull
So I got brave and showed this to the wife this morning. Her response: "Not unless you want to be single." A tempting proposition, but I'd probably get left with the two tiny terrorists which would mean even less (i.e. none) tinker time. So, that leaves you TSD - rescue it into the LR4x4 family.
Bowie69
Oh sheesh, that's only about 10 miles from me. TSD, if you are interested I'd be happy to take a pre-emptive look for you

If it makes you feel better my wife doesn't like them either. However she said she can't see it when she's inside! Mike

Mike What have they done to achieve the same ramp brake over? Isn't this the tightest angle flat sided bump it can drive over without the vertex touching the chassis? Edit: Is it just bigger tyres and a lift? Edited March 14, 2017 by WesBrooks
honitonhobbit
to be honest the different between a standard 90 and a standard 110 isn't really that much
WesBrooks
Fair enough, perhaps it is just the tyres and lift then!
miketomcat
They are designed for 33's but the gearbox and chassis are set higher relative to the suspension mounts. In fact the gearbox doesn't hang below the chassis. Mike
Bowie69
HH, it can't be more than 40 mins from you...
Arjan
Hmm...... The legal issues getting it in France on plates are just too big.. Also, I doubt the "not Q Plate" bit.. I love them. The Mrs. was not too upset - she must be getting younger...
