V8....

You guys.........

you may think I'm a half decent fabricator........

But even I can't re-enforce the chassis behind the engine mounts without taking them off first...lol

Mounts were to come off anyway, there might be a re-positioning of mounts and change of height depending on how it all comes together for single link suspension mounting. I realise this could also mean more mods to tunnel, bulkhead and seatbox, but it's only additional work at the end of the day regards Stephen

Is your trans tunnel and bulkhead panel standard at the moment?

So basically you just rebuilt the entire chassis in three days -something most of us would agonise over for months on end?

@Bowie69 if it makes you feel any better it's going to be around 5 days in total........

The front single link and gearbox crossmember will start off with two pieces of 24" x6" x1/4" Daan spec flat bar to spread load over inside of chassis picking up on existing front chassis crossmember and gearbox crossmember mounting points

If possible I am going to rig this so there is nothing hanging below chassis rails, big ask but time will tell regards Stephen

Hmmmmmm...........

I'm thinking Sid needs an aluminium bulkhead.......

Just to offset some of the additional weight of axles and chassis

Thoughts ???????

Far too flimsy, 1/4 plate minimum!🙂

Im sure you know but its the handbrake drum that usually sits lowest so there's quite a lot of knock on effect from trying to lift the rest of the drivetrain and associated  ancillaries. With your already improved ground clearance id think a nice industrial skid plate would be a far easier solution and could be used to tie the front and rear links together.

Yes I am aware of that but possibly looking at making a disc brake handbrake setup, I have a second-hand caliper with a cable and piston arrangement, think it's off a VW regards Stephen
