Banded Steels

Recommended Posts

The chap who did the banded steels for me … did a set of 4 on tubeless rims for someone, but did them to a spec different  than the chap wanted …

These have an extra 2” in width on the front side. So 7.5”

So if anyone is interested … let me know.

I haven’t put them in for sale as I’m not selling them ! And the forum asks for a price and I don’t have one.

These are just sat upstairs gathering dust lol. They cost me 200 for the clean tubeless rims and there £95 a go to band now. I’m open to offers, swaps, payment in tools or whatever you have🤣🤣

Wheels are in Stockport, Manchester.

not to difficult , you need a good fixture to get a decent cut all around , and something to roll the filler strip nice and round.

I had 5 done - but I guess a bit like a space saver most people could manage with a std size spare.

ok , i get it , i use 5 tyres with the same size (255/85-16) and rotate once a year , so the spare gets used to .

I’m sharing that I know of someone who will take offers on these banded wheels.

Its the same engineer who did mine and I know it’s great work.

Sort of like sharing something that’s been spotted on eBay … except it’s not on eBay.

Mount an old hub in the lathe, bolt wheel on, part it off, roll ring, tack and test trueness, fully weld, rinse and repeat. you can even do alloys if you have two matching wheels and part them off in different places.
